I'm often asked if I can recommend a good veterinarian. After almost 30 years of active involvement in animal welfare, and also because of my own pets, I actually know quite a few vets, including some I can wholeheartedly recommend. But what does "good veterinarian" actually mean? For some, competence is paramount, for others perhaps distance is more important, and for many, unfortunately, it's the cost. And it's precisely when money is involved that things get complicated, because competent and optimal treatment for an animal always involves certain costs. A few weeks ago, an elderly woman sat next to me in the waiting room and was crying. We got to talking, and she told me she was blaming herself terribly. Her dog was under anesthesia for the third time in six months. It started with a simple but urgently needed dental cleaning for her older dog. Because of the significantly lower price, she had the treatment done at another practice. Afterward, the teeth were sparkling white, but the dog still ate less and less and seemed to be in pain. The cause was revealed during the dental x-ray at Dr. Kumpf's practice... several severely inflamed tooth roots. The saying "you get what you pay for" certainly applies here, but money is one thing, the additional stress and the risk of anesthesia are another. Of course, many people would do anything for their pet, but simply have a low income. But there's no shame in that; on the contrary, an empathetic veterinarian understands, and almost always, a solution can be found together that benefits the animal. Understanding and empathy are just as important to me as quality and competence. Especially during difficult times, and particularly at the end of our journey together, it's so important to have a practice team that sees you not just as a client, but also as a person with your beloved animal. That's exactly the case with Dr. Kumpf and her team; everyone is truly passionate about their work, often going far beyond normal working hours. All I can say is THANK YOU, because such a motivated team is no longer a given these days!

We had our dog Timber operated on here in the fall and were 100% satisfied with everything – from the consultation to the surgery and aftercare. The entire team is empathetic, competent, and very thorough. In addition, their consistently warm and friendly manner immediately inspires trust. Timber is in the best hands here.

We are so happy and grateful. We were able to bring our cat in right away, and he received such loving care and attention. In this modern practice, you immediately feel in excellent hands, and the entire team is very dedicated. The veterinary assistant took wonderful care of our cat, us owners, and our young son during this emergency. They provided immediate support for the treatment at the clinic and gave us all the necessary information. They continued to offer excellent advice and support throughout the entire process. Many thanks to Dr. Schummer!

Fantastic veterinary practice with wonderful staff! I'd previously taken my dog to several different practices, and everywhere he and I felt quite uncomfortable over multiple appointments. He even growled at the vets because they didn't even introduce themselves but simply grabbed him from above – nothing like that happens here. During every visit, the entire team is calm, incredibly warm, and Ody and I both feel completely at ease. A huge thank you to the team for their sensitive approach!
