Incompetent doctors. They brought a dog with them, listened to my medical history, and said there was a problem with my spine. They told me to go to another clinic—it would cost me €40. There were no examinations or treatments whatsoever. Update: We immediately informed you about the clinic we had been to. You still sent us back there. And we already knew about the payment plan the day before, when we visited the same clinic you had referred us to. You could have simply said, "We don't do that; you have to go to the same clinic." As I mentioned, the dog wasn't even examined there. They merely listened to the patient's medical history and told us we had to go to another clinic. Please give your customers your full attention in the future. Don't just listen and then send them away.
Overall, the practice is good. We've had particularly good experiences with short waiting times for emergencies. Five stars for that. For routine appointments, I would only give three stars because they schedule too many appointments. Except for our emergency, we waited an hour every time, even with 12 puppies in the car, despite requesting a quiet appointment (and a 10-minute drive). The most negative experience was when the passports and microchip numbers of two puppies were mixed up, and a vaccination was administered almost unnoticed and spilled onto the floor. In another instance, the microchip fell on the floor and couldn't be found; a new chip was used but glued in with the old number. This became a real problem because there was no longer a matching passport, the vaccinations were invalid, and I had a very unpleasant conversation with the buyers, who then had to pay their vet €50 to create a completely new passport. I found it very disappointing that, after many discussions, the only solution was to have the cost of the replacement credited towards my next visit. On my next visit, €4.95 was deducted from the bill. I had to pay the remaining €45 out of pocket, but selling a puppy without a proper passport is extremely unpleasant. Since then, I've been checking all the microchips myself after they're implanted (they didn't do that there), factoring in the long wait time, and I still come because the practice generally offers good appointment times, you can park right in front and wait outside, and the staff are generally friendly and helpful. Therefore, I'm still giving them 4 stars overall.
We were very disappointed with the veterinary practice over the weekend regarding farm animals: we are hobby breeders of the old, endangered Husum Saddleback pig breed. Our pregnant breeding sow refused to eat or drink on Saturday, was still walking and grunting, and didn't seem to have a fever! I then called the responsible veterinarian, who said it was probably nothing serious and that I should give the sow aspirin! Unfortunately, that didn't work on either Saturday or Sunday! I called again because her condition had worsened; she was just lying down! Again, I was put off; he would look at her on Monday morning (I pointed out that she looked very ill). He told me not to jinx it! On Monday, I was able to inform the practice that the house call was no longer necessary; our sow had died! Even if there had been no way to help her from the beginning, I would still have liked to know what was wrong with her, especially since I had two other gilts with her! Surely a quick house call is reasonable, even if it's not a large practice! We were aware of the weekend surcharge, but we won't let any animals suffer; otherwise, I wouldn't get any! I've never had any problems with the practice before; they always came as quickly as possible!
I was here yesterday with my Sam because my vet had already finished for the day. I was seen immediately as an 'emergency'. We had to go straight to Duisburg; the practice sorted everything out for me so I could drive straight through. Today the vet called me to ask how Sam is doing. That really touched me. I think she'll be my new vet. ❤️
