Unfortunately, the examination was anything but thorough. They gave a completely different diagnosis than my cat actually has. Now, because of this incorrect diagnosis, he has a hematoma in his ear and a severe purulent ear infection. Sadly, my two emails have gone unanswered to this day, and I'm really angry. We'll never go there again. One star is still too generous.
My husband and I have been here three times, and each time we hoped our less-than-ideal experience was a one-off. After all, the vet seems popular, and we repeatedly wondered if we were being too critical. Since the vet is located close to our home, we were always happy to spare our little friend long journeys. Nevertheless, I want to describe openly and honestly what repeatedly bothered us. Despite having an appointment, we had to wait between 30 and 40 minutes each time. Because we have a very anxious cat, we had to take him out of his carrier and hold him. We tried to calm and pet him to shorten the wait. This was quite rudely forbidden, with the vet saying the animal could run away and "get lost." I was taken aback and pointed out that the cat was sitting quietly on my lap and that I wanted to pass the time while he waited because he was trembling with fear. I was forced to put him in his carrier—this was insisted upon—in a tone I found unacceptable. What we also didn't like was that the attending veterinarian chatted at length about clearly private matters in the reception area after our pet had to sit in its carrier and wait for a long time – despite having an appointment. And we were forbidden from taking him out of his transport basket. I'm not talking about a brief exchange – it was a long conversation about various topics – we really had to restrain ourselves from saying anything and were genuinely surprised. You can certainly do that with people. For an animal, a visit to the vet is extremely upsetting, and you can't explain it to them. I also want to emphasize that we are very tolerant and kept going back here because we thought we were being overly sensitive, but after three consecutive experiences like the same thing, we eventually felt it was unacceptable. We then went to a new vet and had a completely different – and for us, very positive – experience. The appointment was kept, and our pet was treated in a completely different way. Much more lovingly – that started with the greeting and the fact that our cat was seen on time.
We were looking for a vet for our cat, and the initial examination/consultation was quite different from what we expected. Our cat wasn't even allowed out of his carrier to be examined. Well, okay, we thought... When we called a few months later to bring the injured animal (from a cat fight), we were brushed off on the phone. They said they couldn't even get near the injured animal and that we should get something homeopathic from the pharmacy. He was getting worse and worse... Later, we had to go to the emergency vet clinic in Wasbek. Our cat was examined very thoroughly there. He had a high fever and an inflammation. We were given antibiotics and a painkiller. It wasn't rocket science, and I would have expected such a diagnosis from a regular vet. Very disappointed.
We felt very well cared for at this practice with our very elderly dog. Our dog had deteriorated significantly in recent months and was in a lot of pain. Instead of settling on a diagnosis, they continually looked for other possible causes. Ultimately, there was nothing more we could do for our four-legged friend and loyal companion, and we had to let him go. Ms. Semler found the right words for us, and we thank the entire practice team for their consistently competent care. Thank you so much.
We've been taking our pets to this practice for several years now. So far, there have never been any problems, and Ms. Semler is fantastic with our anxious dog. Our old cat has unfortunately had to go there several times, but each time everyone has been kind and competent. We've even had to have cats and a rat euthanized, and there have never been any issues. Everyone has been incredibly kind and hasn't left us alone. I highly recommend this practice; the staff is very humane and friendly.
