Tierarztpraxis Dr. Nottorf

Unfortunately, this isn't the first time I've been misdiagnosed. I took my cat there because of vomiting and inability to defecate. The vet only found inflamed gums. I called again that evening because the cat had vomited again. They told me to wait two more days. That seemed suspicious to me. So I went to the veterinary clinic in Lüneburg. My cat has gastroenteritis, and the inflamed gums are just a secondary symptom. Perhaps they should simply take more time for the animal instead of making diagnoses based on guesswork!

Whether with a cat or a dog, we've had excellent experiences here. They are very competent. Appointments are usually kept. The physiotherapist, for example, is incredibly friendly and open to trying different things instead of following a rigid protocol. If the animal's time with the clinic comes to an end, there's a straightforward option to have the treatment done at home.

My appointment was at 9:15 a.m., and I arrived to find the door locked. Apparently, the practice was closed for personal reasons, but it seems they can't cancel appointments in advance. I had taken the day off work specifically for this appointment, which was a complete waste of time. Not recommended.

I find it very sad that it seems you only get treatment if you're already a patient there. Today, a cat was hit by a car in Over am Deich. When we called, because it was the only veterinary practice nearby that was still open, we were referred to the animal hospital in Lüneburg, which is another 15 minutes further away than Winsen. The owner, who was completely distraught, just wanted to relieve her cat's severe pain. But if it's apparently too much to ask to relieve a cat's suffering and instead turns away a desperate cat owner, then this practice has failed in its calling.

Dr. Nottorf and her team have been caring for our beloved pets for years, and I've decided to continue using her despite the 110km distance. I'm not familiar with the prices, but I don't get the impression that they're particularly expensive. Many thanks also to the incredibly empathetic team! Warm regards, P. Müller
