Reviews
My dog was a patient at this practice for about four years. Despite some interpersonal issues, I found Dr. Kropff to be a truly competent veterinarian. The practice team was always very friendly and helpful. However, I also noticed at every visit that Dr. Kropff never really liked my dog, simply because of his breed. And the dog perfectly mirrored this insecurity. His growling often drowned out the sounds when he was examined, and his abdomen was so tense with anxiety that it was sometimes impossible to palpate properly. After taking my dog to various other veterinarians (e.g., while on vacation or to the clinics in Stommeln and Cologne), I realized that my dog doesn't exhibit any general aggression towards veterinarians, but simply doesn't like Dr. Kropff. Therefore, I switched to a different vet. Things are going wonderfully there, without any growling or grumbling. We used a muzzle on every visit, even though my dog has never bitten anyone in all these years – but that's not my point. I was happy to do it as long as the vet felt more secure during the examination. It's also much more relaxing for me as the owner, because ultimately, a dog is still an animal. But even an animal can tell where it's liked and where it isn't. And some of her comments perfectly illustrated that point. Therefore, a small appeal to those who feel similarly insecure and have labeled their dog as a veterinarian's nuisance – perhaps try somewhere else.
We've been taking our two Maine Coons there for years. We've had our fair share of problems, including food allergies and FORL. Our cats have always been well cared for, and we've received excellent advice. We're so satisfied that we travel all the way from Mönchengladbach every time, even though other vets are much closer.
I took my 13-year-old dog to the emergency vet today, and the very kind vet provided excellent care. Although my dog was rather quiet, especially at the clinic, my concerns were taken seriously, and I was given a thorough explanation of the possible reasons for my dog's restlessness and diarrhea. The emergency fees are very reasonable, and my dog is already feeling much better! Thank you so much! 😊
For many years we were very satisfied, but unfortunately that changed abruptly. The assistant was quite rude and accusatory because we showed up without an appointment, as if we had nothing better to do and were there just to annoy her. Owners of sick animals are already under a lot of pressure, and you especially expect veterinarians and assistants to show some empathy. It's a shame; we'll be looking for a new practice.
