My senior dog and I visited this clinic over a weekend because she was suffering from an anal gland infection. We were seen by veterinarian Svenja Ewald. During the examination, I was very concerned by how my 17-year-old dog was handled. At one point, Dr. Ewald pulled her tail in a way that lifted her hind legs off the ground. Given that my dog suffers from osteoarthritis and chronic pain, I found this handling unnecessarily rough and distressing to witness. At the time, I questioned my own judgment and assumed that, as a veterinarian, she knew best. For that reason, I returned to the clinic the following day for a simple cleaning of the infected anal area. During that visit, Dr. Ewald asked whether my dog had been in pain after the previous appointment. I replied that she had, which seemed understandable given the nature of the condition. Before I could finish my explanation, Dr. Ewald administered an injection without first discussing the treatment with me. I was later told that it was a low dose of morphine for pain relief. As we walked back to the car, I noticed that my dog could no longer remain standing and had begun crying. We immediately returned to the clinic. At reception, I felt that my concerns were dismissed and that I was treated as though I were overreacting, despite not having been informed that such a reaction could occur. After reassessing my dog, Dr. Ewald told me she was concerned that my dog might be experiencing a neurological problem and that it could potentially be related to the injection. This was extremely alarming to hear. We immediately sought a second opinion at another emergency clinic, where a veterinarian with expertise in neurology examined her. Fortunately, my dog was back on her feet within two days. However, the experience was extremely traumatic, both emotionally and financially. While I am grateful that my dog ultimately recovered, the handling of my elderly dog, the administration of medication without prior discussion, and the way my concerns were addressed afterward left me with no confidence in this clinic. I will not return and cannot recommend it based on my experience.

We had great experience with our cat here. Everyone speak English, and are very kind and helpful. Doctors are careful, attentive, and definitely love what they do. Listened to us, gave us all recommendation, carefully examined our cat, gave all jabs and tests. So far, I can only recommend this place 😊

terrible service, terrible wait time. Doctors are nice if you get to see them. If you don't schedule an appointment it's at least 2 hour wait time. Today I waited 4 hours and gave up out of sheer exhaustion. They previously gave us medication and my dog reacted badly to it, we had weeks of diarrhea because of it and no one there even apologized (of course I paid for the treatment too, and it's extremely expensive). There's no one here who would actually assist you on a longer term basis or communicate with you. Never go here if you can avoid it, the worst vet experience I had in my life.

The “Cardiologist” (if so) prescribed our cat a high dosage of diuretic cause he misdiagnosed a pulmonary oedema. Our cat went from perfect Lab Exams to kidney failure. And we kept calling and went there again after 5 days to check up cause he was being extremely sick all of a sudden. Then they decided to give us pills for hyperthyroidism even if our cat had normal borderline high thyroid values. After 5 days again we went to another vet that diagnosed a horrible kidney failure, our cat was completely dehydrated and his thyroid values went on under the normal ratio. So we went again to another cardiologist that did a proper diagnosis. Unfortunately our cat has cancer and none of this was necessary. Besides that I had to call them 10 times in two weeks to get values as blood pressure that they charged but never sent and beg them for Imaging of X Rays or reports. Only the cardiologist gave us a proper report after a week or so. The stuff is nice but this are basic mistakes. Not recommended.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A Lifesaver for Our Daisy – Truly Exceptional 24/7 Vet Care! We can’t thank Berlin Vet Emergency enough for the incredible care they gave our 8-year-old pug, Daisy, back in late June 2025. It was a Sunday morning when she suddenly collapsed from severe heatstroke — a terrifying moment for us. From the second we arrived, the team moved into action with calm expertise and such compassion. Everyone was fluent in English! They helped with chip number and paperwork. They stabilized Daisy immediately and gave her the urgent care she needed — she made a full recovery thanks to them! Everyone there was incredibly professional, reassuring, and truly pet-friendly — they treated Daisy like their own. The clinic itself felt safe and well-equipped, and parking was easy through the little gate, which helped in such a stressful moment. Knowing that they’re open 24 hours a day, every day of the year is such a relief for any pet owner in Berlin. We were so lucky to have them there when it mattered most. Daisy is back to her happy, healthy self — and we owe it to this amazing team. If you ever need emergency vet care, don’t think twice — www.vetzentrum-berlin.de is the place to go. With heartfelt thanks, 💛🐾
