Reviews
While I was at work, my partner brought our 11-week-old puppy to this practice as an emergency with symptoms of poisoning or a swallowed foreign object, as our local vet was closed. What happened to her there shocked me deeply and prompted me to write these lines. What we experienced: 1. Unprofessional and dismissive: When my partner asked with tears in her eyes if English was okay or if I could translate over the phone, she was irritated. An examination wasn't actually carried out because the symptoms were "not apparent." The dog was supposedly fine. Instead, there were plenty of passive-aggressive comments. He just wanted to get rid of them. 2. Unpuppy-friendly behavior and outdated methods without recognition of breed characteristics: Our Eurasier was not sufficiently socialized at 11 weeks old, as he didn't approach him happily and seemed shy. This is a desired trait of this breed! If you don't know this, you should also listen to the owner's advice; after all, they know their dog's character best. He even admitted during the conversation that he had never heard of the breed. The treating veterinarian quoted him: "Breed doesn't matter." It's a shame, since only standard breeds can be treated here. But only if they immediately obey every command from strangers at a young age. There was apparently no time for a sniff, and trying to entice the puppy with food was also rejected. 3. No adequate medical care: A very superficial "examination" (a quick look into the mouth while it yawned) failed to find the large foreign body in the puppy's stomach. Our vet found it and was able to remove it the same day without intervention. The puppy had already swallowed it without our knowledge before being handed over to us. This was life-threatening and negligent. Who knows what would have happened if we had trusted him. 4. No insight into justified criticism: He lectured us about his four decades of experience, while the methods likely date back to his apprenticeship. This practice is a far cry from the advertised "friendly, empathetic, and modern practice." Animal-, puppy-, and breed-appropriate treatment with expertise and decency can be found elsewhere. The response to my partner's review speaks volumes. We strongly advise against visiting this practice! Even our veterinarian was shocked by the statements and treatment methods used there.
I had to say goodbye to my faithful Angel at the end of April. How can I describe it? It was very dignified! Thank you!!! And to Kai, A dog isn't a status symbol. Don't use your time to write reviews; take care of your pet! Then many situations wouldn't happen! I can't see Dr. Schißau and his team reflected in your review!
