Note: The following account reflects solely my personal observations, experiences, and subjective assessment of the events. I make no claim to a medical or legal evaluation and, in particular, do not wish to assert any facts that I cannot confidently verify. We took our dog to this practice several times. During one appointment, we felt that our concerns about a possible problem with our dog's anus were not taken seriously and were initially sent home. At a later appointment, our dog's anal glands were expressed. Immediately after leaving the practice, our dog lost a very large amount of strong-smelling discharge and, in our opinion, also blood. We returned immediately but did not feel that our observations had been taken seriously enough. Since our dog's condition was becoming increasingly alarming, we subsequently took him to the veterinary clinic in Hanover, where an inflammation was diagnosed and he was admitted for inpatient treatment. As laypersons, we cannot definitively assess whether and to what extent our dog's symptoms are related to the treatment at this practice. However, from our perspective, the problems began immediately after this procedure, and our dog continues to suffer from anal discomfort to this day. Based on this experience, we have lost confidence in the practice and would not return.
I took my Icelandic horse to the practice today for a bronchoscopy. Dr. Schönhoff performed the examination with great sensitivity and calmness. Everything was explained to me very clearly and thoroughly. The entire team gave us a very warm welcome and took excellent care of us. Thank you so much! Even though I hope I won't have to come back anytime soon, I would do so without hesitation and would recommend them to anyone.
Hello, my name is Luana. On June 4th, 2026, I urgently needed to go to the vet. I had a uterine infection, which resulted in me being spayed. By that same evening, I was feeling much better and was no longer in pain. My dog parents and I would like to sincerely thank the entire team at the Schönhoff veterinary practice for their professional help. Kind regards, Luana and the Grahl/Koch family.
We thank Dr. Schönhoff for her loving and kind manner, which accompanied us on our final journey. She is such a wonderful doctor who truly practices her profession with passion. We also thank her sisters. We highly recommend this practice.
