Mr. Sommerfeld saved my dog Amy's life with CPR and injections. He is very competent, helpful, and always available. Thank you.

Our dog was seen by Mr. Sommerfeld 10 minutes before 6:00 PM with acute lameness. The consultation hours were scheduled to end at 6:00 PM, but our little dog received excellent care from Mr. Sommerfeld, who took the time to advise us and explain his planned course of action. He was even available by phone the following day! We are very satisfied and thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your help. Dog Strolch & Family

Extremely unfriendly, not recommended! We took our dog there because he had ear problems. Mr. Sommerfeld pinned our dog to the ground with his elbow and worked on his neck because our dog was very restless and scared and wouldn't let him look in his ears. We then asked him to please stop. He felt attacked and said we shouldn't tell him how to do his job. He became abusive, and we wanted to leave the practice immediately! Unacceptable behavior! I know many people who have had similar experiences with him. Please think twice before going to this practice.

We went to him twice. A complete disaster! Unfriendly, condescending, unempathetic, zero customer service, and after a very brief consultation in which we described our case and Mr. Sommerfeld couldn't help us, we were charged a double-digit amount for absolutely nothing. The other vets we consulted, who also couldn't help, naturally didn't charge us anything for the brief consultation. A vet like that can only survive in the countryside, where the competition isn't as fierce as in the city. If you have the option, go to the other alternative in Gransee instead! You and your furry friends will be much better cared for there. -------------- I tried this vet twice in one year – each time because the significantly better alternative in town was unfortunately on their annual vacation. I'm truly amazed how someone can stay in business with such a lack of customer focus, even downright audacity... presumably, it only works in rural areas where finding an alternative is a bit more complicated than in a larger city. In the town where I come from, this vet would have gone bankrupt long ago; nobody wants to deal with someone like that. You can tell every second that the vet is mainly in it for the money. There's not even a hint of empathy for the animals or their owners. He has absolutely no qualms about making you feel like he thinks he's smarter and better, and I'm afraid he's not the kind of vet who would ever admit to making a mistake. He can probably manage a standard vaccination... maybe he's good with large animals, too. But as a small animal owner with a pet that actually needs more attention than just the standard vaccinations, visiting this man would be too risky for me if I cared about my animal. I can confirm the fear of dogs and cats mentioned in other comments, based on my own experience and what I've heard from others in town. You hear things like, "I'm not touching that beast" (cat), and he actually tells you to leave. He's chosen the wrong profession. The worst part is that he still always has his hands out. When he couldn't help us with an issue concerning our dog, he still charged us around 20 euros for a consultation that lasted less than five minutes and yielded no results. Wow! I've never experienced anything like it; it's practically criminal. I can only advise everyone, if you have the chance, to avoid this vet at all costs if you love your pet and value yourself enough not to be treated like a cash cow.

He always takes his time for the animals and he knows his job. We are extremely satisfied with the practice and our dogs always enjoy being there.
