I am incredibly grateful to have Dr. Wittrock as our veterinarian. From the very first moment, you can tell that she lives and breathes her profession. Her incredible competence and vast expertise immediately inspire confidence, but even more important is her genuine, deep love for animals. She is simply exceptional, especially when it comes to chickens. The amount of knowledge, patience, and dedication she brings to her work is truly impressive. She takes her time, explains everything clearly, and approaches each case with the utmost care and responsibility. Dr. Wittrock is not only outstanding professionally, but also a very special person. She is incredibly friendly, empathetic, and always acts in the best interests of the animals. You can tell that their well-being is her top priority, and that's precisely what inspires such trust. The entire practice team is also incredibly kind and welcoming. You feel welcome and taken seriously every time. Furthermore, the practice is very easy to reach, which is incredibly reassuring, especially during times of worry. It's truly a shame that there aren't more veterinarians like Dr. Wittrock and such dedicated teams. Such loving, competent, and passionate care is rare these days. The practice team is friendly, and I've always felt well cared for there. That is, until I wanted to schedule a consultation about tick prevention. During the phone call, I was asked why I wanted to switch from the tablet to the standard treatment, as the practice had a good contact with the distributor. So, I did my own research, read studies and veterinary guidelines, and obtained a suitable product (repellent and acaricidal) elsewhere. Recently, my dog ​​became ill (diarrhea and vomiting), and we got an appointment the following day, where I submitted the collected stool samples. The veterinary assistant then informed me that the Giardia test was inconclusive and that my dog ​​should therefore only take antibiotics for five days instead of ten, plus tablets for nausea and diarrhea. The veterinarian didn't examine him. We then took the dog to another practice, where he was examined. His temperature was taken, he was palpated and listened to with a stethoscope, he received an injection for nausea, and blood was sent to the lab. We also collected stool samples for four days, which came back negative for Giardia. I'm grateful that I listened to my gut feeling, didn't trust the "diagnosis," and spared my dog ​​unnecessary antibiotic treatment. However, based on our experience, I cannot recommend this practice.
