After being treated elsewhere two weeks ago during an emergency appointment (due to an upcoming vacation on our part) and following a previous ear treatment, which proved unsuccessful and continued to be the same two weeks prior, I deeply regret not having chosen the Scheibenhardt Veterinary Clinic in Hörden as my first choice. Two weeks ago, I was misled by the connection to the ear specialist, who, in our case, could only treat specific conditions but had no available appointments. This connection, given the infected and bleeding ear, led me to believe that the veterinarian had to be an ear specialist. After following the advice of the veterinarian at the previous clinic and being fixated on the appointment, Karl's condition worsened despite the numerous medications. His condition deteriorated so much that I went to the Scheibenhardt Veterinary Clinic, confident that they could help my dog. Surely a veterinarian should recognize the seriousness of the situation and, even without being a specialized ear specialist, be able to treat my dog ​​or other dogs immediately and effectively. I'm still annoyed with myself for my own naiveté and how easily one can be misled. Certainly, there are differences in care, but when an abscess is treated unsuccessfully for four weeks and a veterinarian explains that he can't see any deeper because of the pus and therefore an ear specialist has to treat the problem, I should have known two weeks ago that this couldn't be the case. I am grateful to the Scheibenhardt Veterinary Clinic for their lightning-fast care and the removal of the polyp that caused the problem, which hadn't been recognized by another veterinary practice and subsequently by the other clinic. It's worth mentioning that my pug, Karl, had never been sick before—no allergies, ear infections, or anything like that. He was perfectly healthy until about four or five weeks ago. For this reason, I give them five stars, as this clinic immediately identified the root cause without requiring a specialist ear doctor. I've had two female pugs before and was always extremely satisfied with their care; I simply should have known that this practice/veterinary clinic offers the best care. He is now perfectly fine and the situation in the picture is history.

5 stars are far too few…!!!!! At least 10,000!!! My name is Biscotte, a wildcat. I was admitted here as an emergency case 🚨 in October 2025…. I was taken in with great empathy. I had a multiply fractured hind leg…. Very painful. Now, in March 2026, I've put all that behind me. And, 🙏 thanks to the loving team at this clinic, I can explore the world again, healthy and happy. Under no circumstances should you go to the head veterinary clinic! I can't speak for the other vets there, but my experience was traumatic. My dog ​​has an autoimmune disease where his immune system destroys his platelets. He currently has zero, which is very critical. He suddenly developed acute stomach problems, and our regular vet wasn't available. So, I had no choice but to go to this clinic. The reception staff were unfriendly and uninterested in patients. Then we were called in, and the nightmare began. This vet seriously asked me several times if I wanted my dog ​​to bleed to death. She claimed my regular vet was treating him completely incorrectly. Everything was wrong, and she knew better. She told me not to let anyone tell me otherwise and asked if I realized that if my dog ​​ran in front of a car, he would bleed to death instantly. She took more blood, saw that he had zero platelets, and still gave him an injection, even though it could have been treated with medication. He bled heavily for three hours, and I was terrified he'd bleed to death at home. Knowing his condition, she still injected him! To top it all off, she made derogatory remarks about his breed because he's a street dog from South Africa. What's the point of that? This woman should have her license revoked! I've already contacted the district office and will discuss further steps with my lawyer tomorrow. Unbelievable!

Effective and reasonably priced veterinarian practice.

With one exception, we've always received a very friendly welcome here. Today, the vet was also very empathetic with our dog. She addressed our concerns with humor and kindness, examined the wound, and treated it. The price was also reasonable for a veterinary clinic. We wouldn't switch to another one, even after many years.
