After moving to Berlin, I had to find a new veterinarian for my 47-year-old Amazon parrot. My Amazon is in excellent hands at the avian practice, especially with Dr. Marquardt. Compared to the veterinarians I've seen over the last 20 years, I can confidently say that everything at this practice is done with the animals' best interests at heart, and that should always be the case. During every treatment/examination, I can see how carefully and gently the birds are handled. The practice also cares for injured birds, such as pigeons. (This speaks volumes for this avian practice.) The avian practice also offers a vacation service for a fee (provided all slots aren't already booked 😉). Everyone who works there is friendly and responds to calls and emails as quickly as possible. Even with unusual or uncommon issues, they try their best to help. The price-performance ratio is also really good and justified.
Very nice and friendly staff! I called today because of an emergency. My canary was quickly helped thanks to precise instructions over the phone. He's chirping again, eating, drinking, and thanking you all so much... Thank you! ❤️
If you want to have your bird examined, you should make an appointment with Birger (email, phone – ideally with a description of the symptoms you've observed). The staff are competent, friendly, and very communicative. Questions are welcome and will be answered in a way that's easy for laypeople to understand, so don't be shy. Everything is open for discussion. As members of the Berlin City Pigeon Project, we approach all topics openly and with trust, engaging in constructive dialogue on every question concerning a bird's life. We clarify the problems openly for ourselves and the individual bird, in its best interest as well as ours, together with the respective veterinarian. This includes financial matters as well as questions about the always possible option of euthanasia. Every life counts!
A very competent veterinarian tried everything to help my bird. It worked, and he's doing better now.
From my very first visit, the clinic and its team made a very good impression on me, and since then I've only gone to this clinic when needed. Even in urgent emergencies, you can get a short-notice appointment for an additional fee, and the team does everything possible to help. Although my German isn't very good, everything is explained to me clearly.
