Today we took our 6-year-old Maltese to the LB Small Animal Clinic for treatment of an acute uterine infection. Welcome 5 stars We received a very friendly welcome. Everything was prepared. Waiting time 5 stars Even though we had only booked the appointment the day before, we were seen immediately without any waiting. Examination and medical history 5 stars We were able to patiently and attentively explain all of her symptoms, and the veterinarian took plenty of time for a thorough and calm examination. Our dog immediately trusted the vet and was also easy to take for the ultrasound. Treatment 5 stars I was able to ask all my questions and fully follow the veterinarian's advice. The careful consideration of risks and benefits was particularly noteworthy. We were given an immediate surgery appointment, and everything was explained in such a way that no further questions arose afterward. ... I'm not just satisfied, I'm overjoyed with the outstanding treatment. Everyone was incredibly friendly and caring towards my sick dog. These are true professionals.
We've now taken our dog to the small animal clinic in Ludwigsburg several times. Whether it was gastric torsion in the middle of the night, joint problems, or a threatened pyometra, each time we received extremely sensitive and competent advice and treatment. Everyone here, from the receptionists to the veterinarians, is incredibly empathetic, proactive, and conscientious. Our dog was always the top priority, and our concerns were taken seriously. A huge thank you to the entire team! You truly feel well cared for here!
We took our rabbit to the clinic late one night on a public holiday. After pressing the emergency call button, the door was opened immediately, and we were seen right away. Unfortunately, nothing more could be done for our rabbit, and we had to have it euthanized. Dr. Shuflatova and her assistants were very compassionate, calm, and attentive. Every step was explained to us clearly, and we felt well cared for during this difficult time. We are very grateful that the clinic is open 24/7 for emergencies, even at night and on public holidays.
Pet owners are handed laminated cost estimates on a clipboard. The scheduled examinations are entered by the attending veterinarian; then the pet owners are expected to sign the estimate on the spot. I photographed the completed estimate before signing it – and I strongly recommend that every pet owner do the same. In my case, a CT scan of the skull and thorax was scheduled for my dog. However, the estimate also listed a "lung X-ray" as an additional charge – an examination that, in my opinion, was unnecessary with a thoracic CT scan. When I wanted to carefully read the estimate before signing it, the attending veterinarian herself, who had just filled it out, told me rudely: "This is not a reading room, but an examination room. Please leave." In my view, this is no way to treat the owners of an oncology patient who has just received one of the most serious diagnoses and is in a very difficult situation. There were no explanations, no empathy, and no mention of the fact that staging should ideally be performed at a clinic that can also offer subsequent radiation therapy—an option not available in Ludwigsburg. I am very glad I canceled the rescheduled appointment and cannot recommend the veterinary clinic in Ludwigsburg, especially for oncology patients. In the same region, I have experienced clinics that treat pet owners and patients with significantly more professionalism and compassion.
We had to say goodbye to our beloved chinchilla in the middle of the night and are so grateful for the compassionate support we received during this difficult time. The veterinarian, Dr. Vogt, took plenty of time to explain everything to us calmly and helped us make our decision without putting any pressure on us. It was clear that the animal's well-being was truly important to her. Even the farewell itself was handled calmly and respectfully, which was incredibly important to us. We would also like to emphasize that the bill, especially for an emergency service at night between the holidays, was absolutely fair. Thank you so much for your kind and professional care during such a difficult time, and for the sympathy card.
