Over the weekend, I took my dog ​​to the emergency vet because he suddenly had bloody diarrhea. In such a situation, you would expect the animal to be thoroughly examined. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. The vet only took his temperature and briefly listened to his heart, even telling me he had a heart condition. Otherwise, practically no examination took place. Instead, I was quickly offered an allergy test, even though, in my opinion, my dog's acute symptoms suggested something completely different. In the end, my dog ​​only received painkillers and antacids. Since his condition didn't really improve, I went straight to our usual vet on Monday. There, my dog ​​was immediately given a thorough examination, including his abdomen and intestines. It turned out that the cause was his prostate. I was very disappointed. Especially in an emergency clinic, you expect a careful examination and a serious assessment of the symptoms, not just quick treatment without any real diagnosis.
