Hello I've read all the reviews here and I'm honestly shocked that some people don't realize this vet is simply not good. About three years ago, I went to Dr. Lux with my mother because my cat wasn't feeling well. Yes, he was getting on in years, but he was still in really great shape. However, he started having trouble breathing, so we went to the vet immediately. The practice is more like a basement and just doesn't look like a veterinary clinic at all. It's small, there's only one examination room, and yet you have to wait a very long time because there are only two or three "veterinarians" working there. As a person, you don't feel comfortable there, and as an animal, it's no wonder they feel intimidated. The opening hours are also far from ideal and make it even harder to get a suitable appointment. And let's not even talk about the prices. It's sad that they don't even properly examine the animal to determine what's wrong. They only palpate and listen to his heart, and then administer tons of medication. I neither saw nor heard of anything like ultrasound, X-rays, or anything similar being available. Can't they just do a proper examination? Is that too much to ask? You don't go to a vet for nothing. My cat was subsequently euthanized because the medications that were supposed to "help" him didn't work. They didn't do any further examinations, just palpate and listen to his heart, and then said it was pointless. We spent so much money on that, only to be told in the end that he had fluid in his lungs. It could have been so much more; I just don't understand it. We also had to have my other cat euthanized about three weeks ago because they supposedly had an extremely large number of tumor-like lumps in his abdomen and "maybe in his head too." Again, they did nothing except palpate and listen to his heart. Despite these supposed lumps, he still ate well, had normal bowel movements, and otherwise showed no noticeable symptoms apart from the things I'm about to mention. He had started pulling out his fur and licking himself until he bled. His teeth were falling out, and his gums and eyes were very pale, almost white. Again, he was given a ton of medication for nothing. He was constantly having seizures, like convulsions, extreme shortness of breath, and circulatory problems—maybe even more, nobody knows. And yes, maybe he had tumors, but without proof or anything like that, I don't trust it. It could just as easily have been something else. All we know is that he suffered terribly, just like we did, and we didn't know what to do. During the euthanasia injection, they first tried to hit the vein in his front paw, but failed. My cat started bleeding and was terrified the whole time. On the second attempt, they also tried to tighten the tourniquet on his other paw. The second time it worked, but it was still all accompanied by pain and fear. All we know is that he suffered just as much as we did, and we didn't know what to do next. Furthermore, my cat was already very fearful of strangers and unfamiliar surroundings. He simply didn't deserve to suffer like that. Perhaps he could have been helped if they had examined him properly and actually taken action. And before we had to have him euthanized, we had already been there several times when the first symptoms appeared. This means there was plenty of time to properly care for the cat. But as they say, it's all about the money. Therefore, if you're new to this practice, please don't go there or change your vet. Dr. Eifler is supposed to be good; make an appointment there. My friend also switched her cat to him, and he received a thorough examination. Her cat is doing much better.
