My twelve-week-old puppy injured himself in the garden today. He was playing with my other dogs, and one of them bumped into a paving stone, which fell over and pinched my puppy's tail. It was bleeding heavily, and my puppy was yelping like crazy. I immediately put him in the car and drove to the veterinary practice of Doris Lüßen – it's the closest vet to our house. It was important to me to get help quickly. I arrived at the practice completely distraught, in tears streaming down my face. My dog was lying listlessly in his crate. The assistant asked me what had happened. I explained the accident: My puppy had injured himself in the garden, a paving stone had fallen on his tail, and it was bleeding heavily. Her response: "Why didn't you call us?" – To be honest, it unfortunately didn't occur to me to call beforehand in such a shocking situation. ' ... Then they said, "No, we can't see you right now, she needs an X-ray." I said, "Yes, please do the X-ray yourself, you have an X-ray machine." The only response was, "No, that's not possible, I only have a female vet here." I was referred to the Kaiserberg Animal Clinic. I find this absolutely outrageous: refusing to treat an injured, heavily bleeding puppy. Of course, I would have accepted a wait, no question about it. But to turn me away in such a situation, even though I've been a patient there with my dogs for years, is incomprehensible and disrespectful. So I drove to another veterinary practice, just 5 minutes away – and there my dog was treated immediately, without any hesitation. That was the last time they saw me at the Lüßen practice.
A fantastic practice! All the vets are incredibly kind and friendly. We've always been seen very quickly, whether with an appointment or without, and our dogs are always well cared for. We've been going there for years. And the prices are absolutely reasonable, even for emergency services.
I've been taking my animals to Dr. Lüßen for years and have only good things to say about her practice. Last week, I took my guinea pig, Grandpa Moritz, to see her. I called briefly, described his symptoms, and was given an appointment right away. I already sensed that things weren't looking good for him. Sadly, he has passed away. I was devastated, of course, and they even offered to call someone to make sure I got home safely. I highly recommend this practice.
