I sought treatment from Dr. Ulbach some time ago for a previously diagnosed PTSD due to recurring psychosomatic symptoms. The therapy for the underlying trauma and the resulting trauma-related disorders is complex and lengthy. Dr. Ulbach has accompanied me on this journey with a high degree of professional and formal competence, as well as empathy. His treatment style creates the opportunity to address the post-traumatic stress disorders and ultimately integrate the root traumas at a pace that I can manage. To be perfectly clear, therapy for trauma is essential, and I can truly say that Dr. Ulbach, with his understanding and feedback, has paved the way for my healing. However, the decision to embark on this path rests with the patient. The path is challenging, and it only works because I trust Dr. Ulbach and not only openly share my emotional pain but also learn, based on his feedback, to cope with it better and dismantle avoidance strategies. So, success depends primarily on how much I am able to push myself. The doctor can only provide support where I actively engage in the process. This is where the gradual recovery lies. The greatest relief for me is feeling taken seriously, and Dr. Ulbach gives me the necessary space with understanding instead of pressure. I also find the care provided by Mrs. Ulbach at reception, as well as by Dr. Ulbach when covering for him, to be empathetic and attentive. My quality of life has already improved significantly thanks to the therapy, and I am confident that I will be able to successfully complete the acute treatment in due course. For this, I am already incredibly grateful to Dr. Ulbach and his team.

I am very outraged by this practice, and it is very sad how my husband was treated there. My husband has been under Dr. Ulbach's care for 10 years; initially as a private patient – which is the only reason he got an appointment right away. As a privately insured patient, he received everything: hospital admissions, stays in private clinics, medical certificates, expert opinions, sick notes, last-minute appointments... and was taken seriously. It was even said that his depression probably wouldn't improve. Half a year ago, my husband switched to statutory health insurance, and he was told beforehand that Dr. Ulbach could no longer continue his treatment, that there would be no more last-minute appointments, and that his daughter would take over. I can accept that there is a difference between those with private and statutory insurance; unfortunately, it's common practice these days – but I still don't think it's right. But that's not the reason for my negative review. Today, my husband visited daughter Ulbach because he is still ill and unable to work, and because he wants to undergo lithium therapy, which the practice is unfamiliar with, doesn't support, and therefore refuses. My husband has tried so many different medications over the past 10 years, and nothing has helped in the long term. Now, a private insurance assessor recommended (and also imposed, so that a pension would be paid) that he undergo lithium therapy months ago. No assistance was provided today; his depressive phase was questioned; a sick note isn't possible, but a referral would be issued... I can't understand this behavior. It's okay if the practice can't or doesn't want to perform this therapy. But simply leaving someone to deal with it alone and telling them they have to find a day clinic or a doctor themselves is something I can't understand. He was told today that people with depression can't demand anything, and he's just demanding. But he can take care of things on his own (and under certain circumstances, he may even have to demand things). Very contradictory and simply sad. This practice may be good for private patients, but I would advise against it for anyone with statutory insurance.

I had been under Dr. Ulbach's care for a few weeks and then had to switch from private to statutory health insurance. Afterward, I received just one more call from him saying he currently had no more capacity and would get in touch when a spot became available for me. That was two years ago. Terrible doctor!

I absolutely cannot understand the negative reviews. Dr. Ulbach is an expert in his field. Mrs. Ulbach, including her daughter, is friendly and very helpful. Of course, if you only go there to get a yellow card, you shouldn't be surprised by certain reactions. Dr. Ulbach made my life worth living again over 10 years ago. Thank you for everything. I have been a patient of Dr. Ulbach for a long time and can say that he is my trusted doctor. I always experience very friendly interaction with patients, including from Mrs. Ulbach at reception. In short: I feel very well cared for there and can highly recommend the practice.
