Reviews
A down-to-earth veterinarian who doesn't push for unnecessary tests with unclear benefits. Very pleasant and calm demeanor. By the way: No one vaccinates more discreetly (my young horse didn't even notice).
Very rude. He conducted a pre-purchase examination on our horse without our consent and without us being present; not even the prospective buyer was there. Just random people from the stable in question gave him permission, which we hadn't granted. He didn't even check the equine passport. When we asked how that was possible, he simply said that he just does what the stable owner tells him to do, and that the horse would have failed the veterinary inspection anyway and wouldn't be bought. The whole thing is quite strange.
I've known Dr. Chrobok since I was a child, and my family, including myself and my horse, can always rely on him. He's always easy to reach or calls back as quickly as possible. Scheduling appointments is a breeze, and he's always kind and friendly, but also always honest, which I really appreciate. His handling of the horses has always been excellent, and I can wholeheartedly recommend him to anyone! He's always spot-on, no unnecessary chatter, and he truly does what needs to be done, not just to rip you off. I trust him completely and am always grateful for his expert treatments.
Dr. Chrobok's diagnosis of a coughing horse with nasal discharge and pronounced abdominal breathing was completely wrong. After bronchoscopy and laboratory analysis of the extracted fluid, he found "only" a mild infection. Treatment recommendation: NONE. In his words: "The horse is practically healthy." After a visit to the clinic with another bronchoscopy, bronchoalveolar lavage (BAL), etc., moderate equine mastocytic asthma was diagnosed.
When my horse was stabled here, I had Dr. Chrobock as my vet: reliable, down-to-earth, without any fuss or fuss, and very competent! The Großmoor Equine Clinic (near Celle) also recommended him for outpatient follow-up treatment. A clear recommendation! However, anyone looking for a vet who talks a lot, explains, asks questions, and chats (and charges for it) should find a different vet for their horse.
