I went to this Dr only because it was an emergency situation. Our 15 year old dog Ronja tore her ACL and MCL in her right knee at 7pm on a Friday night. Knowing that she is an old dog we knew that a surgery would not be an option for her. So my wife and I make the hard decision that we would have the dog put to sleep to minimise her suffering. This man Mr Schmidt refused to euthanize Ronja and gave her an injection for pain. As I placed Ronja on the floor she fell down before being able to take a step. I then helped her to her 3 good legs hearing now her left knee popping and cracking as she was trying to hop out of his office. I again pleaded with Mr Schmidt to end Ronja's suffering, he would not. He also offered us no further medication for Ronja as it was Friday night at 7pm. Less than 3 hours later Ronja tried to stand up and her left knee popped loudly and she fell to the ground yelping and crying (which she had never done in 15 years even through 2 previous surgeries on her left knee). We were forced to watch our beloved family member spend her last 90 minutes of life whining until a veterinarian from Bad Salzungen could come to our house and euthanize Ronja for not only us but Ronja as well. Mr Schmidt was sure to write a 100€+ invoice for 2 injections and allowing not only our family but our pet to suffer as well. I personally will tell every pet owner I know, who ever mentions your name or town name how we were treated or mistreated. I personally am the most disgusted and disappointed by the service I "received" here. I will never let Mr Schmidt even look at one of my animals in the future. I would give 0 or negative stars if possible.

I'm incredibly grateful to have found such a wonderful veterinarian. You can immediately tell that the animals' well-being is their top priority, not their profit. Nothing is done unnecessarily or pressured into anything; instead, they offer honest and easy-to-understand advice. The way they interact with you is incredibly humane, empathetic, and calm – both with your pet and with you. You feel truly heard and in good hands. For me, they're one of the few veterinarians you can genuinely trust. Highly recommended!

We feel we are in excellent hands with Dr. Schmidt and his team. Our cat had a very serious operation and isn't out of the woods yet, but Dr. Schmidt continues to support us with incredible dedication, time, and empathy. It's immediately clear that the well-being of animals is truly his priority. He always takes his time, explains everything clearly, and is always there for us if we have any questions or concerns. His calm and warm manner makes us feel understood and taken seriously. We are very grateful for his support and can wholeheartedly recommend him – a veterinarian with heart and great commitment! 🐾❤️
