A very, very good and experienced veterinarian. Our 15-year-old dog received excellent surgery from him. Dental work and tumor removal in one session. Just two days later, the dog is already back to her old self! She's eating and pooping normally. She's lively and fit. The surgical sutures are incredibly strong. The anesthesia went smoothly, even though our dog has an old heart. A huge thank you and much praise!
Fantastic veterinarian!! Honest and with a great deal of empathy for both people and animals. Many, many thanks, Dr. Herold!
I've been taking my dog to this vet for many years, and every time I'm simply grateful to have found him. He treats my dog with such calm, patience, and warmth that you immediately realize: the animal is truly his priority. He always takes his time, explains everything clearly, and you feel well cared for from the very first moment. My dog trusts him completely – and that says it all. For me, he's the best vet ever, and I can wholeheartedly recommend him.
Dr. Herold was recommended by a long-time dog owner with the following words: "He has a wealth of experience and great expertise, prioritizes the animal's health without performing unnecessary and costly treatments. He treats patients with ample time and patience, is easily reachable even in urgent emergencies, and doesn't neglect the human aspect of the treatment." I own a small, severely allergic Jack Russell Terrier named Bonny, who is very anxious and insecure and has many health problems. This often leads to people trying all sorts of things, incurring high costs without much success. Dr. Herold took plenty of time in his calm practice, and his expert assessment of previous diagnoses and treatments was very insightful and helpful. The conversation felt like a meeting of equals, and my concerns and fears were taken seriously—which is very important for me to trust him. I own a small, severely allergic Jack Russell Terrier named Bonny who is very anxious and insecure and has many health problems. He works alone, meaning he's your sole point of contact and is easily reachable. He billed fairly for his services without markups, which is often not the case in large veterinary practices, despite legal limitations (the German Veterinary Fee Schedule allows for multiple fees). There was no pressure to buy medications, supplements, etc. – which often caused pain, colic, and relapses in my severely allergic dog. He seemed completely trustworthy, with extensive and up-to-date expertise in various fields, friendly, and got straight to the point. My dog was completely relaxed during the examination and wasn't stressed, as is usually the case. No frills, no omitting facts (like an overweight dog) to avoid upsetting the owner – no sales pitch. The practice is simply equipped with everything needed for a standard examination (ultrasound, etc.), and for medically complex cases (bone surgery, spinal disc surgery, etc.), he recommends reputable colleagues. Anyone who misses these qualities in today's large and almost exclusively profit-oriented veterinary practices, which employ veterinarians who work under great pressure and time constraints, has come to the right place.
We are absolutely thrilled with Mr. Herold's work. He supports us with his incredible expertise, whether it's about food compatibility, genetics, or neutering. You're never left alone with your animals for a second; even when I came by with my cat at 9 pm, we were greeted just as warmly as if it were only 11 am. Anyone who wants to know their pet is in good hands will find exactly what they need at this practice.
