I've been taking my beloved pets to this vet for several years now – first my budgie Piefke, then my Maltese Barrily, and now my British Shorthair cat Marley. I'm thrilled with the practice; Dr. Nordhaus and his wife take wonderful care of their patients, both big and small. Even though I live in Hamm, I would never switch vets. It's also great that they offer a 24/7 emergency service, which I've unfortunately only had to use once. Yes, I can highly recommend this practice, and our Marley is so glad he received such excellent care.

I'm still speechless at this doctor's behavior. I called to ask about a specific heart medication. He replied that if I was a regular patient, I could pick it up. I confirmed this and asked if he had that exact medication in the correct dosage for my dog. He said "yes" and reiterated that I had to be a regular patient because "people call the practice trying to get cheap medication." I found this statement odd. It sounded like an accusation. But why? When I arrived at the practice, he presented me with a different heart medication. I pointed out that we had discussed medication X. Then he smugly informed me that he hadn't had the requested medication for at least three years. I was perplexed. Why had he told me the opposite on the phone? Apparently, he wanted to "punish" me for being just one of those freeloaders trying to get medication through his practice without actually being a patient. I was a patient of the group practice four times with both dogs, as evidenced by the fact that I had been there. It got even worse: He told me to leave when I refused his alternative medication, which, moreover, was the wrong dosage. At that moment, his colleague, who was treating my dogs, came towards me. Completely bewildered, I explained the incident to her. He came to the door, threw me out of the practice, and slammed the door in my face. Absolutely appalling behavior. It's a shame; I would have preferred to continue seeing his colleague. I was very satisfied with her. PS: I also find it very strange to see literature about wars on a sales counter. But it fits the image of this eccentric character.

Our cat had an abscess due to a wound, which was causing him pain. Mr. Nordhaus spontaneously saw us on Friday and helped us immediately without any waiting. Thank you!

Excellent veterinary practice. The animal's well-being is always the top priority. Unnecessary examinations or surgeries are discouraged and this is explained in detail. We feel our cats are in very good hands there and have always received excellent care.

I came across this veterinary practice by chance and I have to say I'm absolutely thrilled with Mr. Nordhaus, Dr. Skubella, and the lovely veterinary assistant! My dogs are always treated with loving care. I find the calm and relaxed atmosphere they all exude very pleasant. And they always give a treat after every examination. Don't expect any frills or fuss here. Instead, you'll find clear, factual information, and they absolutely *don't* try to sell you anything you don't need. I'm someone who asks a lot of questions and would even have unnecessary tests done for my dogs' well-being. Both vets always take their time and give me thorough answers. When I ask about specific tests, they explain clearly and objectively why they aren't strictly necessary, so I can save myself the money. Hey... where can you find such great vets these days? In many practices, they just gratefully accept every suggestion from their clients to make money. I feel very well taken care of. The team is friendly and has a family-like atmosphere. ____________________________________________________________ One more thing I'd like to add. Yes, there are little books on the counter: "Unlearning War." But honestly, what's wrong with that? Someone is engaging with the topic of peace. Fantastic! Why don't you take one of the books and read it?
