Top Kliniik!
Our horse has now had two surgeries at your clinic. The first was on June 23, 2017, for an impaction colic caused by the bedding. He had to undergo emergency surgery. Luckily, everything went well. This year, on June 24, 2020, our horse had to have surgery for a splintered and displaced zygomatic fracture. The doctors and staff are so dedicated to doing everything they can to ensure the horse gets better soon. The treating veterinarian calls us every day, and they answer all our questions kindly. Even if you visit your horse daily, no one gets annoyed if you have further questions. We want to say a huge thank you to the wonderful doctors. The colic surgery was performed by Dr. Theiß (who is sadly no longer there). This time, a very big thank you and praise to Dr. Bierau. Even after the horse has been discharged from the clinic, you can still ask questions, and they are answered kindly. They even call you back. A huge thank you to the office staff and all the doctors. In September 2021, our horse was with you again for five weeks (due to an accident). He received excellent care then as well.
The orthopedic and surgical clinic was a lifesaver for my horse! He came through the difficult surgery well, the communication was transparent, and the staff's care was superb. Despite the long journey (Stuttgart), I'm so glad I chose this clinic with its many experts, from surgeons and orthopedists to farriers. Special thanks to Max Stahlheber for his help in finding us, organizing everything before and after the clinic stay, and for all his assistance! Oaki and I extend our heartfelt thanks to the entire team!
I am 100% happy with my pony's treatment and would highly recommend the clinic. I got an appointment very quickly and easily. The anesthesia, surgery, and aftercare were top-notch. I felt incredibly well cared for and supported throughout the entire process; everyone was friendly and extremely competent. I was particularly impressed by the professional handling of my pony, who can become quite the diva when it comes to injections, yet was managed perfectly.
A complete rip-off... I searched for a gentler word, but couldn't find a better one for "rip-off." A rip-off due to incomplete information given over the phone beforehand, and then receiving completely false information about the bill on-site. Finally, what choice do you have when you're told on the phone that they need to continue the search tomorrow, and then at the end of the diagnostic procedure they say... hmmm, the extended anesthesia isn't included in the standard lameness exam, and the price has just increased by €1000, and if you don't pay despite the incorrect/incomplete information, you won't get your horse back? So, I paid, packed up my horse, followed the recommended treatment, and thus enriched my next vet, only to find out two months later: NO, THAT DIDN'T WORK, SHE'S STILL LAPPED, and another diagnostic procedure is now necessary. Excuse me... unfortunately, there's no veterinary medical review board like in the healthcare system, where a review determines whether something went seriously wrong and the hospital billed the health insurance company incorrectly. My personal suggestion to the state of Hesse: conduct a structural review; after all, you're pouring money into this. I know every doctor is only human, every doctor has to start somewhere, but if I choose to go to a university clinic where experienced doctors are present, I don't expect to be ripped off like this. I never would have thought that veterinary medicine had to rely on such procedures.
