Reviews
Normally, and in the past, they were a great team. They always helped us quickly and competently. But now there are two new, very young female doctors, and my experience with them tells me – no more. I will definitely always ask specifically for the experienced staff.
The practice staff and veterinarians are highly recommended. They are always attentive to concerns and questions and do everything possible to arrange a timely appointment. My pony receives excellent care, and the castration performed by Dr. Haase was also completed without complications. I am completely satisfied.
I am very grateful and happy to have such a competent veterinary practice. They make appointments by phone easily, offer emergency services, and have friendly, competent veterinarians. If anything is unclear, they consult with the vet and provide feedback. A fantastic team! It's reassuring for me to have this practice nearby, even when I can't be there in person.
First of all, I would like to say that I am not referring to Dr. Haase's entire team in this post. We have also had good experiences with them in the past when it comes to teeth, colic, etc. But in this case, unfortunately, it was a complete failure that cost a pony's life. We contacted the vet on Sunday because our pony was constantly lying down and it was difficult to get her up again. When the vet arrived, our pony was standing again and she began the examination. The final diagnosis was that she had colic. What surprised me was the vet's statement, after asking twice, that she could go back out to the pasture to eat grass. A few months earlier, we had a case of colic with another horse and owner where her colleague left the horse standing for 12 hours without food. Well, I thought to myself, she's the vet, she will know what she's doing and followed her advice, which I shouldn't have done. She said that the painkillers and a antispasmodic should work for about 3 hours and that you should see an improvement after that. Unfortunately our pony was lying down again after just 2 hours and we called the vet again. After another brief examination a stronger painkiller was administered. During this visit I asked twice whether the pony should go back out to the pasture. Again she told me yes, it can go back, it's not a problem and we should give the pony additional mash. If it doesn't get better after this injection, which takes 6 hours to work, we should contact her again but then come without our daughter. She made it clear to us that we should have the pony put down. Our pony stood until the next morning but unfortunately after 2 hours we got a call that it was lying down again. After 3 hours of trying to get it to stand again, we took it out of the paddock and put it in a box. Unfortunately the pony did not survive because another vet diagnosed severe laminitis and any help came too late. So far so good, or not. Unfortunately I discovered that Dr. Haase had listed services that were never performed. I then called the practice to clarify this and to say that I was not satisfied with the services provided by the vet, that she had made a wrong diagnosis and that our pony was no longer alive. She then arranged for the treating vet to call us back. This happened that afternoon and she told me that she had accidentally written down a few things that she had not done. I then confronted her with her diagnosis and that the pony had since been put down. She continued to insist that her diagnosis of colic was correct. I then asked her why she had not advised me to take the pony from the paddock, but instead it should remain in the paddock, when a colleague of hers had instructed another horse owner to do this a few months earlier. The answer was that we must have misunderstood each other and she did not know that we had the option of finding somewhere else to keep the pony. Personally, I was speechless at the cheap excuse she used to get out of the situation, without an apology or anything else. As I said, this review does not refer to Dr. Haase's entire team, as we have had good experiences with other doctors there, but unfortunately not with this doctor in this case.
Super friendly and competent staff, they don't do unnecessary tests. My horse had a bad cough with phlegm. I got an appointment quickly, and the medication helped my horse. It was my first time using this practice, but I will definitely contact them again if I have any problems with my horse. Thank you so much for your help.
