Unfortunately, it's only possible to give 4 stars; this outstanding veterinarian deserves many more. Dr. Bretschneider has given our rabbits, Max and Rudi, a new lease on life. He is an absolute rabbit expert. In addition, he and his team are incredibly kind, unbelievably fair, and completely transparent with their billing. After bad experiences with veterinarians in Hamburg, we even travel from Finkenwerder to Westerhorn. I can highly recommend Dr. Bretschneider and his team to anyone who wants their pet to be well cared for. Having a pet always means taking on responsibility. Kirsten Werner

I am absolutely thrilled with Dr. Bretschneider and the entire team at the Westerhorn Veterinary Clinic. The removal of the eyelid tumor and the skin tumor went exceptionally well – calmly, professionally, and very gently for my dog. The meticulously administered inhalation anesthesia was particularly noteworthy; it was clear how much experience and expertise the team possesses. The entire team is incredibly friendly, empathetic, and exceptionally well-organized. You feel truly valued and in excellent hands. The pricing is also completely fair and transparent. We had contacted the practice beforehand via email regarding an upcoming surgery for our dog, and I drove about an hour and a half to get there. Unfortunately, instead of addressing the actual issue, I was first subjected to a long lecture about "overbred" pugs. This was neither helpful nor empathetic in the situation. The surgery appointment wasn't for another two weeks anyway, which made no sense at all, and I should have been informed beforehand that the practice only had surgery appointments available then. Overall, I found the interaction difficult – anyone who owns a pug should perhaps seek out a practice that is more understanding of the breed. I understand the risks involved in owning a pug, but the dog is here, and we do everything we can to ensure his well-being.
