Dr. Opiela is a truly wonderful person and doctor. We (or rather, our animals) have been going to him for 20 years and will continue to do so with complete confidence for the next 20 years. A very warm, honest, and competent veterinarian.
Here, we received help for our dog when other veterinarians were at a loss. Dr. Opiela takes his time and explains his procedures in a way that is easy to understand.
If I could, I'd give zero stars. I called an hour before closing time with a life-threatening emergency (allergic reaction; the animal was completely swollen and barely moving) and was desperately seeking help as quickly as possible, which was explicitly refused despite my detailed description of the situation. I was told to simply drive to the animal hospital 30-40 minutes away. It was just for an injection that would have taken no more than three minutes. It seems that the staff's fear of overworking and leaving on time take precedence over animal welfare! I'm absolutely appalled!
