My cat, whom I hand-raised, ran away. After four weeks, he'd gone from 5 kg to 1.5 kg when I came home. I went straight to this person. She sent me home with medication instead of keeping him there and giving him IV fluids. He died at eight years old. Thanks, woman. Don't go there.

We've been taking our cats to Dr. von Ammon for 30 years now. She's always been helpful and competent. Even if an animal needs treatment during the holidays, she's available. A doctor who practices her profession with patience and love.

One phone call with this doctor is enough. Completely unempathetic. Not recommended. My dog is very ill. I wanted a second opinion. The doctor isn't accepting any more patients. Okay. That happens. Then she goes on to talk about her upcoming vacation and doesn't even wish me a speedy recovery. Terrible manners!

We had initially decided to keep the previous owner's veterinarian with our puppy, a decision we later deeply regretted. I should mention that we were new to dogs and therefore couldn't critically question every recommendation. Therefore, we ended up with Ms. Ammon for two months of treatment. Too often, these treatments were simply questionable, if not even incorrect (even according to renowned dog trainers and veterinarians). Whether it was the deworming treatment given to an animal weakened by other illnesses, contradictory and counterproductive nutritional advice, or a misdiagnosed fungal infection. When we finally decided to change veterinarians, we asked her for a response to our list of criticisms and received, in our opinion, a completely inadequate and rude response, accusing us of asking too many questions and confronting them with Googled diagnoses. As described above, our criticisms were based on the opinions of several dog experts.

I've been a patient of Dr. von Ammon since the 1990s with my eight cats (pictures). She cured two cats with homeopathy that had been deemed untreatable by conventional medicine. I'm very sad that she now only has her practice open two days a week. But everyone deserves their well-earned retirement. I've met many pet owners who told me that their animals wouldn't have survived without this vet. I would actually like to give her more than five stars.
