Reviews
Sometimes things need to happen fast... My cat was in a real emergency, and we urgently needed an ultrasound and lab work that same day. After calling all my usual vets without success, I got a tip to try the new practice on Hardtberg. I'm so glad I got that tip! I found a fantastic, modern practice with the option to manage all appointments, results, and invoices online (though it's not mandatory), which is a huge help with my insurance. But the best thing is that I encountered highly competent vets and staff who are not only thorough but also warm, patient, and empathetic—and who don't watch the clock in an emergency. A special thank you to Ms. Schäfer and Ms. Engelberg! If my cat Eddie goes up to complete strangers and greets them like friends, then he's probably at this practice... We'll be staying. PS: When I look at some of the reviews here, I (also) have to shake my head. If I were to take my pet to the vet with a tick, especially if the vet was dealing with an emergency, I would understand that triage would be necessary. I also had to wait because I was put in between other patients – but I was just glad to get in at all, as none of the other practices I knew were available on short notice. My cat wouldn't have survived. And when you consider that this practice has extremely long opening and on-call hours, far exceeding those of other practices, you can be forgiven for even a phone call from each of the incredibly kind staff members. Personally, though, I didn't experience that.
My two senior cats and I are so happy to finally have such a great veterinary practice nearby. The entire team is incredibly friendly, and the way they treat the animals is simply wonderful! Unfortunately, I've had completely different experiences at other practices. Here, the animals, their quality of life, and their owners are definitely the top priority. Unfortunately, I have two cats who require a lot of care and seem to develop some new health issue every month, so we're regulars at the vet. Last year, Harley received comprehensive care from Ms. Schäfer at another practice after suffering after-effects from dental work and the associated anesthesia, during which she refused to eat for several days. So I was all the more pleased not to have to drive 30 km anymore, but to have a practice with such a qualified veterinarian right on my doorstep. I also take Ivy to Ms. Schäfer for treatment. Since she suffers from asthma, a food allergy, and a chronic inflammatory bowel disease, among other things, a thorough medical history and further diagnostic testing are very important to her. During our visits, Ms. Schäfer always takes plenty of time to discuss our pets' health, identify any problems, and, with the appropriate diagnostics, outline a sensible treatment plan. For Ivy, this means regular ultrasound examinations of her internal organs. Ms. Schäfer is incredibly thorough and explains exactly what's wrong. And in addition to all her veterinary expertise, she's simply such a warm and caring person. Harley also needs an annual check-up with a heart ultrasound. We had this done at Dr. Kerkmann's practice as well. Here, too, they took their time, performed a thorough examination, and explained the results afterward. And the veterinary assistants are all incredibly kind. Finally, a few thoughts on the negative one-star reviews: Waiting times at the vet are never pleasant, but unfortunately, sometimes necessary, especially during weekend emergency services. If you have to wait a long time, just be glad that your pet isn't as unwell as the animal in the examination room, which might be in mortal danger. You're not being left sitting in the waiting room out of spite. Unfortunately, we have very few emergency veterinary services in our area, which is a real shame. All the more reason to appreciate that this practice offers such care. And it's understandable that, in the end, not every animal can be helped and you might have to be referred to other clinics. And the practice has only been open for just under three months. Certain internal processes need time to settle in. A little patience wouldn't hurt. Perhaps such a negative review should be reconsidered to see if it's truly justified. Warmest regards, Amelie and the two Grumpys
I was admitted to the veterinary practice with my dog due to acute symptoms, and we felt very well cared for from the very first moment. The veterinarians are not only very empathetic but also highly competent. I also appreciate the diverse range of specializations available, which allows for comprehensive diagnostics and treatment. I always felt taken seriously, well-informed, and treated with courtesy. My dog likes cats, but I'm sure the separate waiting areas for dogs and cats are a big plus for many animals. One small addition: Some appointments involved a bit of a wait – but I understand this, as emergencies take priority at the practice. When you have an emergency yourself, you're certainly grateful for that. I will continue to take my dog to this practice, as we feel completely well cared for.
So happy to have found this competent and warm practice! Unfortunately, no one could really help me for four months. At this practice, they were finally able to perform a biopsy. Now we know what's wrong with me and I can finally start my treatment. Since I've been going to this practice, I'm feeling much better. I finally have the strength to rule my human properly again. Best regards, Nala the Cat
Excellent veterinary. The separated cat and dog waiting zones are a bliss. Skillsets are distributed across the doctors nicely. Direct handling of our pet was tender and lovingly, instead of grab and press, like we had to experience elsewhere. We can feel our pet is in good hands now. Delightful! Keep up the good work folks
