Okay in an emergency I've known the clinic for a few years and have only ever used it in emergencies or when my vet was on vacation. Nevertheless, I was hardly satisfied with any of my visits. Most recently, a hoof abscess was diagnosed, which was a gunshot wound, and the treatment significantly worsened the underlying problem. Furthermore, there have always been issues with the invoices. The last one was backdated, and the payment deadline had already passed before the invoice even arrived in my mailbox. In the past, they neglected to update my address (despite my repeated reminders), and I was asked to please pay the resulting late fees anyway. There have also been invoices for treatments that never occurred, or for medications that were billed for the wrong size. A vet I had specifically booked for an X-ray after a previous appointment had forgotten his X-ray machine and only told me after my horse was sedated (of course, I was billed for this). The constantly changing staff also makes me suspicious. It seems like hardly any employed veterinarian can stay in Bretten for more than 12 months. In conclusion: if my horse needs urgent help, my veterinarian is unavailable, and a trip to another clinic is not feasible, then I would contact Salzhofen. In all other cases, not.

I can wholeheartedly recommend this clinic. After my horse's surgery there, I was regularly informed about its condition, and every step, along with the advantages and disadvantages of each treatment, was discussed with me in detail. Dr. Reichert and the clinic staff were consistently very competent and friendly. Dropping off and picking up the horse was also completely straightforward.

We cannot express in words how grateful we all are for what this clinic has done for us. Dr. Reichert and his team fought with everything they possibly could for our school horse, Imbra, who was suffering from cancer. Thank you for not giving up. Thank you for so much support, passion, and dedication. Thank you for allowing us to bring our horse 🐴 home healthy again.

Let me start by saying that I can wholeheartedly recommend the Salzhofen Equine Clinic with ALL its staff, its competent veterinarians both at the clinic and in the mobile practice, as well as the excellent SAHO-Mobil transport service. They are easily reachable around the clock, and in case of an emergency at the stable, a veterinarian arrives as quickly as possible. Whether treatments took place at the stable or in the clinic, I always received a professional and honest diagnosis and assessment. There was no "pointless, unnecessary tinkering," as I have experienced at other clinics or with other veterinarians. During a 5-week stay at the clinic, the entire Saho team lovingly cared for my horse; they did everything imaginable for him, so I always knew he was in the best hands. Furthermore, I was always kept up-to-date by phone or in person, and my questions were answered clearly and patiently. My special thanks go to Camilo Villarreal, Dr. Christof Reichert, and Dr. Kai Klingelhöfer, all of them are friendly, empathetic, and absolutely competent veterinarians. My old Easter Memory (almost 34 years old) was very agile, curious, full of life and eager to move until his very last day. He was admitted to the clinic due to acute colic, where they tried everything possible. And even during his "final walk," I can only express my deepest gratitude for how calmly, stress-free, and with such dignity everything was handled. The entire compassionate support for my horse and me was a great help during those last difficult moments. Thank you for that! My heartfelt thanks go to the entire Saho team; keep up the great work.

I would like to express my sincere gratitude for the excellent and competent care provided by veterinarians Dr. Asalih and Dr. Dammer, and the entire clinic team. My gelding was admitted to the clinic in December with a kidney/spleen colic. The team managed to help my horse without surgery, and he was back at our stable after just four days. The value for money was outstanding. I had expected much higher costs and found the billing to be more than fair.
