My little Chantal didn't make it. I took her to the vet on Tuesday and was seen very quickly. I have a bantam hen with a cloacal prolapse. They took care of the little fluffball very quickly, removed a soft-shelled egg, and stitched/tightened the vent. They explained to me exactly how something like this can happen, gave me medication, and asked me to call back on Thursday morning. Just as I was about to call, Chantal didn't make it. But she laid an egg before I did. Her last act. Of course, I still called the vet and let them know. They were very empathetic and expressed their condolences. Even though Chantal didn't make it, I was and still am very happy with the vet. They did their best. Thank you for reading.
Unfortunately, there's still no option to give zero stars. On Saturday, I had to speak with a very unfriendly and rather impatient woman because my daughter found an injured woodpecker. She seemed to find my call annoying; I have no idea what I was bothering her about, but she came across as very condescending throughout the entire call. She laughed at me when I asked questions about information that was already on her own website, and she kept going on about how expensive it would be for me. She said that if I was willing to drive an hour to the vet's office for an injured woodpecker, then I was also willing to pay around €1000 for treatment. After this statement, she suddenly seemed interested, but unfortunately, my interest had already waned, and I was already googling other emergency vet clinics during the call. It's truly sad when it seems that only the money, and not the injured animal, is what matters. Sorry again for daring to bother you on a Saturday afternoon, but then PLEASE don't offer an emergency service or find another job where empathy and friendliness on the customer phone aren't absolutely necessary. 🤷♀️ Thank you.
Dr. Thumes provided us with expert, professional, and prompt assistance on Saturday afternoon during the emergency service. We had to have our 16-year-old Cameroon sheep euthanized. We can highly recommend his practice.
I would give Ms. Pollack all the stars in the world, which is why I switched to her practice. Unfortunately, Ms. Pollack doesn't do emergency services, so when you call, you end up with a very unpleasant veterinarian who clearly has no interest in emergency calls and loudly declares on the phone that she doesn't know the case and won't treat it. You spend thousands of euros at the practice, and when you need help at an inconvenient time, you get none! It's strange that another emergency service was able to act immediately, even without knowing the dog. For me, that's unacceptable; then they should only offer emergency services for THEIR patients and not for everyone!
So far, the practice and the veterinarian have been of excellent help with my chickens! I am very satisfied and would come back again if anything were to happen.
