Reviews
We've been going to this practice with our guinea pigs for a little over 8 years. We haven't had a single bad experience in all that time. For every emergency, we were given an immediate appointment, and even then, there were no long waits. All the staff were always willing to listen to our questions or concerns. In recent years, we've mainly been with Dr. Brendea. In my opinion, there is no better veterinarian!!! Not just on a medical level, but also on a human level. He is one of the most empathetic people I've ever met. I wholeheartedly recommend him. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Thank you so much for your loving care, understanding, and help.
We took our cat to this veterinary practice because of fluid retention in her abdomen, as she had been lying around listlessly ever since. The vet tried to take a blood sample from the cat but was unsuccessful. Only with our help was she able to get our cat into a treatment bag, but she still charged us. The next day, her blood was drawn under anesthesia, an x-ray was taken, and after consulting with a family member who is also a veterinarian, they asked us to perform a rapid FIP test. Given her symptoms and a quick Google search, we also came across the possibility that this was a possible cause of our cat's suffering. Why do we, as customers, have to suggest this test and aren't informed about it? They charged us a second time for the blood sample, which I find outrageous, since they couldn't do it the first time but still charged us. The result of this rapid test was positive, making it 98% certain that our cat has FIP and will not survive, as there is no treatment for it. We were told this in the waiting room, which is a complete impertinence in itself. Further treatment steps weren't even explained, but we were simply told that further details would be discussed next week. This was a Tuesday. Unfortunately, our cat passed away on Thursday. Since we have a veterinarian in the family, we wanted to have the blood test results and asked about them on Wednesday and Thursday. The answer was that the results had arrived but hadn't been processed yet. Why is it necessary to leave the results for two days, causing our cat to suffer unnecessarily and leaving us in the dark? On Friday, we received a call that the blood results had been analyzed and it wasn't coronavirus (FIP develops from a coronavirus infection). We received no explanation and were told that further treatment steps were necessary. We then informed the vet that our cat had passed away yesterday, and she pityed us with banal platitudes. Almost two weeks later, we received an invoice from the lab for tests that hadn't been discussed beforehand, and we hadn't given our consent for them. This seems very suspicious. When we asked about it over the phone, we were told that we had confirmed this with a signature, which we definitely hadn't. But due to these events and, subsequently, a similar situation with our hamster, which unfortunately also resulted in his death, we no longer have any trust in this veterinary practice and would never recommend anyone to visit it. The main reasons for this are, as described above, doubts about their professional competence, in our case, rude treatment of customers, and to us, it seems as if this practice only cares about profit and not at all about the welfare of the animal being treated.
A truly fantastic practice. I visited the practice in Ittersbach for the first time today, actually just for a specific examination. We saw Dr. Schnell. I'm absolutely thrilled. He's very empathetic, highly competent, took plenty of time, and explained everything very well. A wonderful doctor. The veterinary assistants were also very friendly and empathetic. The practice is well-organized. The prices are absolutely reasonable and nowhere near as high as I expected. Since the practice is very modern and offers a full range of diagnostic and therapeutic services, I was pleasantly surprised by the bill. I also have a great regular vet. But I would definitely come back here if needed. I highly recommend this practice!
I took our cat Kimba to see Mr. Brendea for treatment today. I have to say, I was thrilled. This man is truly passionate about his work. It's a shame I can only give five stars. Please keep up the great work. Best regards, Karin-Maria and Steffen Brunn
Our experience happened a few years ago. We had to call Dr. Arndt one Sunday in April. Our cat had been hit by a car, or his paw was caught in a trap from which he then freed himself—we don't know. His leg was dangling from his body, and the other leg was exposed down to the bone at the ankle. He was covered in blood when we found him; it was a horrific sight. When my husband and I arrived at the clinic with the cat in our arms, Dr. Arndt drove up in a Porsche. Okay, we thought. It doesn't necessarily mean anything; everyone can drive what they want. After the initial examination, we had to leave him there. We weren't allowed to stay with him. He was given some kind of IV drip in his front paw and put in a carrier. She assured us that he would remain under her observation. We assumed she would stay with him; we were devastated by the sight. It was clear the leg would have to be amputated. But we absolutely didn't want him alone. The next morning, I called at 6:00 a.m. (after such a night, sleep is out of the question) to find out how our cat was doing, but no one answered the phone. We didn't know if he was still alive or not… I kept this up until just after 8:00 a.m. Only then did a veterinarian finally answer. When I finally got her on the line and asked about our cat, she immediately told me we should expect to pay between €2,000 and €3,000. The overnight stay alone, where no one was there, cost over €600. We got him out of there and drove to another vet in Baden-Baden. The total cost of the amputation and aftercare was around €750, and the vet was truly fantastic. The way they subjected the animal to being alone in an unfamiliar environment in such a situation devastated me! The animal's well-being was clearly not a priority.
