You helped our young cat Elli in her greatest hour of need. Thank you so much for allowing us to bring her home healthy after her stay at the veterinary clinic.
We were admitted here at very short notice as an emergency case. Amira and family thank you for the professional help. We are overjoyed that she can walk again. Our special thanks go to Ms. Friedrich, who cared for Amira with such love and sensitivity. We feel very well cared for here and, despite the long journey, would love to come back.
To be honest, we wouldn't even give one star. We were there on May 30th, 2025, because our usual vet was closed for a public holiday. Our dog was bleeding from the mouth, and we didn't know why. During the examination, she (Veterinarian Bauer) explained that it was probably due to his teeth, which were in poor condition. He didn't have a fever, and his heart was also checked and sounded normal. So we had blood drawn for lab analysis. Afterward, she gave him an injection of pain medication and an antibiotic, which wasn't listed on our bill, nor was it given to us afterward. We were also given 20 antibiotic tablets to take home, which we were supposed to start the following day. When we asked twice if anything could happen to him, she answered both times verbatim, "No, except that it might bleed a little more. However, the antibiotics will work quickly and then he'll get better." We weren't informed about any risks and it felt like we were just a number to be processed quickly. So we took him home... he got something to eat and then he slept... we even took him for a short walk, but we thought that was probably normal after the pain medication, etc. At 2:35 a.m., the nightmare happened... he yelped briefly... we jumped up, picked him up, and quickly realized he wasn't breathing! Every attempt to revive him was unsuccessful, and so we had to accept that our beloved four-legged friend simply died in our arms. On Monday, we went back to the clinic and asked for a consultation and an evaluation of the blood tests. The woman who spoke with us couldn't give us any information about the treatment, as Ms. Bauer was apparently not there. Furthermore, the whole thing was dismissed with the explanation that no one could explain it, as there were no abnormalities in the blood work. After consulting with our veterinarian, based on his blood test results, there was no reason why he should have been put down. With the unanswered questions of whether our dog was given the wrong medication or perhaps the wrong dosage, we now have to say goodbye. In conclusion, we absolutely cannot recommend this practice.
Highly competent, but far too expensive! €265 for the treatment, including €86 just for listening to the heart and looking in the mouth (10 seconds), is absolutely outrageous, especially since we already knew what the dog's problem was. Customers should be informed about such exorbitant prices beforehand. Not everyone has that kind of money! I do not recommend this veterinarian.
After weeks of ineffective treatment, we decided to take our dog to a veterinarian specializing in ophthalmology in Leipzig. After just one week of treatment, she was immediately better and no longer has any problems with her eye. However, when you think about it and compare different veterinarians, you unfortunately get the feeling that the level of training in ophthalmology isn't the best, which was very detrimental to our dog's recovery. Furthermore, the weekly treatments were very expensive. In retrospect, we felt like we were just being ripped off.
