We are extremely dissatisfied with this veterinarian. We went because our cat was extremely lethargic, drinking and vomiting excessively, and losing a significant amount of weight in a very short time. The vet's diagnosis: "Upset stomach" and the weight loss simply due to old age – our cat is 12 years old. The problem: He didn't even examine her properly. No proper palpation, no thorough examination, nothing. Instead, he simply gave her an injection and a stomach protector. From that injection onward, everything only got worse. Two days later, he seriously wanted her to receive the same injection again. Luckily, we didn't, because we already had a very bad feeling about it. We even asked ourselves if it could possibly be her thyroid, since we had done some research. His response was simply: "That's nonsense." Absolutely arrogant and not taken seriously at all. Because the entire diagnosis and treatment seemed so strange to us, we sought a second opinion. And lo and behold: Our cat's thyroid levels were completely catastrophic. The drastic weight loss was NOT due to old age, but to her thyroid. She's now on medication she'll have to take for the rest of her life – but at least we have our old cat back. She's eating and drinking normally again, is active and alert, and is finally gaining weight. Without the second opinion, our cat would probably have died. We find it absolutely incomprehensible how anyone could simply dismiss such obvious symptoms without a proper examination. Definitely not recommended.

We had our cat Bounty spayed by Dr. Engelbrecht on April 9, 2026, and were very satisfied! We've been taking our cats to him for many years and drive from Nordhalben to Hof. He and his assistant are always friendly and empathetic. Thank you for your great work! 👍🐾🐾❤

We had a problem with our cat. We went to the vet's office and were seen right away (after the lunch break). The vet did a great job, and we went back two days later for a check-up. Excellent service and a good price – a fantastic vet!
