Tierarzt Ewald Eswein

I cannot recommend this veterinarian. After having my cat neutered last year, he developed terrible behavior. He became aggressive and marked all over the apartment. After numerous visits to other vets and immense expenses, it turned out that my cat is cryptorchid – meaning his testicles are undescended. I had to have them surgically removed. Therefore, whatever was removed during the initial neutering – it wasn't the testicles – the vet failed to detect that they were missing and located in the abdominal cavity. I strongly advise against using this veterinarian. I hope my cat's behavior will eventually resolve itself.

I used to trust him completely, but when he advises me to examine my cat myself, considers X-rays unnecessary, and tells me he doesn't like me and hangs up because I asked about appetite stimulants, then I'm not sure I'd still recommend him... I think he's unfortunately ready for retirement. No proper examinations anymore, misdiagnoses leading to incorrect treatment, and then this. Three visits with two animals, and each time it was a disaster. Sorry... But if you care about your pet, go to a vet who keeps up with the latest developments, even if it costs more... As of today, I wouldn't let them do anything more than give your pet a vaccination! Edit: I went to a proper vet; my cat didn't have an infection, but rather dental problems and needed additional dental X-rays to rule out FORL. Things Dr. Esswein doesn't believe in. So it's grossly negligent to take your pet there!

I want to thank Ewald for treating my cat. Thank you so much for your professionalism and kindness. We traveled 100 km to see the doctor, calling ahead. The appointment took place on the same day, which is very important in an emergency. The positive effect was already evident after the first injection. My immense gratitude. I highly recommend him!!!! And he's a fantastic person ❤️
