I've taken my hamsters to the practice a few times and have always left satisfied. Like most vets, their focus is on small animals (dogs and cats) and not small mammals (guinea pigs, rats, mice, etc.). But they do what they can, know their limitations, and communicate them clearly! When needed, they've even recommended a vet who specializes in a particular area. That's the kind of advice I want! I've rarely experienced that at other practices. Plus, the whole team is always very friendly.

A very frustrating experience with the emergency vet. My dog had an eye injury during the night, yet I was immediately advised to drive directly to the Rostock Animal Clinic (we're from Sassnitz) – even though I was already close to Stralsund and an examination by the on-call vet would have been possible. I called again to inform them that the condition of the eye had improved significantly, but they still insisted that I go to Rostock and didn't come to the clinic. At the clinic, the eye was only examined and I was given eye drops – cost: €265. For my pet and me, this meant an unnecessary nighttime drive and considerable stress.

I had to see the on-call vet, Dr. von Vietinghoff. It was indeed an emergency; the dog had to be euthanized. There was a lot of back and forth on the phone... until it was established that we had an emergency at home. But first and foremost, the payment had to be sorted out... What the minimum cost would be. It felt like a deterrent. Oh well... they must have had their experiences. I hope for more empathy for all other animals and their owners. Maybe it was the time of day... But we certainly wouldn't choose her as a vet voluntarily; we didn't feel welcome. The vet tech was absolutely lovely.
