On May 7, 2026, our "Labrador girl" (that's what I always jokingly called her), Molly, passed away after a short but severe illness that lasted only three days. It was a real blow, as she was only nine years old. We contacted the veterinary practice in Havelauen, as we had often found our animals to be very well cared for there. I don't want to make this too long: Our thanks go to the entire team at the veterinary practice for their help and support. The truly loving care they gave Molly, as well as the emotional support they provided to my wife and me, helped us a great deal. Should we find another four-legged, tail-wagging, friendly panting, and joyfully drooling creature, we will have it cared for at this practice again. I hope, for the sake of our other animals, that the practice will be around for a long time to come. Thanks again to everyone who cares so selflessly. Regarding the costs: Yes. These aren't exactly cheap prices – but you either have to accept it or not. The exorbitant costs aren't solely due to veterinarians. You should really find out beforehand what keeping animals can cost. And abandoning an animal at a rest stop or tying it to a tree for money?! Truly pathetic. Animals would never be that cruel to their supposedly so caring owners. There are so many idiots in the world that it's doubly sad when such a loyal animal dies. Animals are a blessing – which I wouldn't say is true of every human. I just had to get that off my chest!
