Our dog Wilma vomited blood at 2:30 in the morning. At the same time, she had watery, bloody diarrhea. We called the emergency veterinary service in Schleswig-Holstein and were told by the computer that "no on-call practice can be found within a 90 km radius," at which point the phone was hung up. That really scared us. Luckily, we found Ms. Bahr-van Gemmert's mobile number on her website. It was worth a try. It rang barely twice before she answered, at 2:30 in the morning. A few minutes later, despite a hand injury herself, she quickly, competently, and empathetically cared for our dog at her practice and gave us the appropriate medication right away. The next morning, Wilma was already feeling much better. We are so grateful to Ms. Bahr-van Gemmert for not hesitating for a second to help us and would recommend her without reservation.

Even as a child, I could never simply look away when an animal was in distress—whether a tiny earthworm, an injured bird, or any other creature. I rediscovered this same deep compassion in her. This veterinarian not only works with professional expertise but also with genuine dedication, empathy, and respect for each and every animal. You immediately sense that the animal's well-being is her top priority. I am particularly touched by her commitment beyond the call of duty. The fact that she is now even helping the whale "Hope" demonstrates to me the true extent of her dedication and her heart for animals. This deserves the utmost respect.
