I urgently needed help for my cat, who had a spontaneously ruptured abscess. Thankfully, I was able to come in right away, and my cat received surgery. So far, so good. Around 10 a.m., I received a call that everything had gone well, that he had recovered well from the anesthesia, and that I could pick him up at 3 p.m. I was greeted warmly at the clinic that afternoon, and the nurse stood up, saying, "Well, then we can remove the IV now," and disappeared with the doctor into the recovery room. While I stood at the reception desk receiving instructions on how to administer the medication, I wondered how they were going to remove the IV while my cat was awake! Before I had even finished that thought, the drama unfolded. I heard my cat screaming and thrashing about so violently that it shook me to my core. A fight between the staff and my cat was apparently taking place behind that door. She suddenly jumped up, and the nurse came out in a huff and disappeared into the treatment room to get a sedative, saying, "Well, your cat isn't cooperating at all. I've never seen anything like it." I couldn't believe what she'd just said to me. She was blaming my cat, who was still recovering from the anesthesia, in an unfamiliar environment with strangers and a protective collar around his neck, for not being amused by the fact that they were going to remove an IV? It's incredibly unprofessional to blame others for your own incompetence. After another five minutes, they carried my cat from the recovery room to the treatment room, and I was supposed to come in with them to calm things down. I wondered what I could possibly do to help, since I was horrified by the scene and completely beside myself to see my pet like that. And instead of simply cutting the bandage and removing the IV, the nurse wanted to unwrap the bandage round by round. Finally, she complied with my exasperated request. There were four of us in the treatment room now, the IV line had been removed, and I was handed the protective collar. I was supposed to try putting it on him at home. I couldn't contain myself and asked if I was supposed to do at home alone what the three of them couldn't manage. Unbelievable! He would have only had to scratch the stitches once on the way home, and the surgery would have had to be repeated. In the end, I still had to pay the full bill, despite their utter postoperative incompetence. I really struggled with having the wound check done at that practice. But my motivation for going back there was that the treatment had been done there, they knew his medical history, and it was just a wound check. So, I gave my cat a sedative and went for the wound check three days after the surgery. I arrived at the practice, and it took longer for them to call up my file than to actually examine the wound. We went into the examination room, my cat came out of his carrier, the vet glanced at the stitches and said, "See you on Monday to have them removed." Less than 30 seconds. I thought it was a joke, all that fuss (not that it wasn't worth it) for a simple "looks good, see you Monday." €30, please. €30 for what? Unbelievable. A simple picture/video chat via WhatsApp or email would have sufficed and saved me and my cat a lot of trouble. Really cheeky, I have to say. Fun fact: the LMA (lethal medication) only started working on my cat once I was back home. So useless, you don't drug an animal for a 30-second appearance. Anyway, I'm done with that practice. Good luck to those who go there and have had good experiences.
We have been taking our cats to the Henning couple, a veterinarian, for many years, and now also to their successors. We feel very well looked after there. The vet and the veterinary assistants are very kind, courteous, calm, and very attentive to both the animals and the people. Everything is explained clearly, and they take time for their patients. We can tell that they all love their job and pursue it with passion. They are a fantastic team, and we highly recommend the practice.
A competent and very friendly team for years. Especially in emergency situations, they provide quick and uncomplicated help. So far, with all new dogs, both puppies and rescued dogs, it has been no problem to visit the vet, the team, and the practice without a prior appointment, and always without any hassle or charge!
The practice is always there for us. They respond quickly and effectively in emergencies. The people are always friendly. The special days are especially good, when blood draws aren't so expensive. If your animals have problems with their joints or backs, then come to the practice; they can adjust them.
