Five stars aren't enough! I was there today with my Tommy, and all the staff welcomed me so warmly. I told them my story, and everyone was so empathetic. I saw David. He immediately had the right approach and was so kind to Tommy. Unfortunately, all the vets before (2.5 years, 3 - 4 veterinary practices - 9 vets) didn't test for certain things, which was his first approach... my cat suffered for 2.5 years before he ended up at this wonderful practice... but sadly, he had to cross the Rainbow Bridge. Thank you to everyone at the practice... from the first hug from the lovely lady who was already off duty! ♡ for the encouragement from the other lady to the heartfelt care from the vet!!! Tommy is grateful to you and wishes I had come to you sooner! ♡
We feel very comfortable and in excellent hands at Thomas Backhaus's. Mr. Backhaus and his team are knowledgeable and offer informative advice on all aspects of caring for our beloved pets. The feeding recommendations are invaluable in every respect and greatly benefit our animals' well-being. We are delighted to have met Mr. Thomas Backhaus and wish him and his entire wonderful team all the very best! Warm regards from Dresden
We received a referral from our vet for an oncological evaluation. This was completed in 10 minutes. Because of the previously completed medical history form, we were there for almost 3 hours. Our dog has recurring problems with food changes. However, we've already found the food she tolerates well and has no issues with. Nevertheless, I checked the box for food intolerances on the medical history form. We didn't want any treatment, but it was forced upon us anyway. The practice may be competent, but they pressured us into treatments we didn't want and which weren't the reason we were there. We will definitely not be visiting this practice again.
We've been taking our now 15-year-old dog to this practice for treatment for two years. Dr. Backhaus and the entire team are very empathetic, so you feel comfortable from the very first moment. We've also recently had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Zarecky, who is a new addition to the team. We are very impressed with his approach and targeted treatment suggestions. He gave us excellent advice, and all our questions were answered thoroughly. Dr. Zarecky is a highly competent and conscientious veterinarian whom we can wholeheartedly recommend.
Dr. Backhaus and his team are fantastic! My dog had slightly elevated liver values for seven years. I was told this was normal because she came from Greece with ehrlichiosis. On someone's advice, I consulted Dr. Backhaus. We subsequently changed her food, and he prescribed some supplements as well as laser therapy. After eight weeks, we went back for a check-up. For the first time since I've had her, Ruby's liver values were within the normal range! And that was after only eight weeks. She's also become noticeably more agile and cheerful. I'm so glad I made the trip (a 3.5-hour drive each way). Here, the dog is treated holistically, and they take plenty of time for each patient.
