After 20 years of unwavering loyalty (at times with up to four dogs), we were disappointed in our greatest hour of need. We called 40 minutes before closing time to have our nearly 20-year-old family dog peacefully euthanized, and were turned away and advised to go to the emergency clinic. Under the previous owner, Dr. Hanten, such a loyal and long-standing client would never have been turned away in this final, difficult moment. An absolutely undignified end to our long relationship with this practice. I will be taking my dog to a new veterinary clinic!
I took my dog, who has allergies, to the vet. He was prescribed antibiotics. Without even asking about his specific allergies beforehand, this particular antibiotic was prescribed. We had mentioned several times during the examination that he has allergies. After picking it up at home (that same evening), we noticed that the antibiotic contained ingredients like poultry liver. My dog is allergic to poultry. After consulting with a veterinarian (who also couldn't guarantee that he wouldn't react to the antibiotic), a new antibiotic was prescribed, but the old one wasn't taken back. Over 50 euros wasted... It's especially frustrating when you've already spent over 250 euros at the vet's office just last week. Furthermore, my mother called ahead to say she would be coming from Haan to Unterbach to pick up the prescription for the new antibiotic. When she was told to wait there for about 15 minutes, she was sent home without the prescription with the explanation that "it will come by email." ... And to top it all off, we also received an invoice by email for €4.02 along with the prescription, stating "prescription fee without consultation." This place really does have a "customer service" policy! Not only did they tell us that we had already received the "wrong" medication and still had to pay for it, but they also sent us another invoice for €4.02 for the new prescription we received by email! This is truly unacceptable! We would have continued our treatment at this practice, but that's now over!
