Reviews
Very nice veterinarian; we had an emergency with our puppy and received excellent treatment. We were then able to continue our journey to Kaiserslautern with peace of mind.
Very friendly service 🙂 I called and 30-40 minutes later we were in for treatment. Everything was explained very thoroughly and kindly, allowing us to resolve the problem quickly. The prices were okay, I'd say. -Examination + Consultation + Pain Relief - -€117- They advised against unnecessary tests, which shows they're not just focused on making money. One small drawback (1 star): The examination was done in my absence. I personally would have preferred to be present to see what was being done. Unfortunately, they couldn't provide fixed prices or even a rough estimate. Of course, every animal is different, but a rough estimate would have been nice. I can wholeheartedly recommend this practice – your pet is in the best hands there!
I hesitated for a long time before writing this review, but I want to openly share my personal experience. I took my bearded dragon to the vet because a small part of its tail (about 3-5 cm) had died (necrosis). I went to the vet to get a professional assessment and discuss possible treatment options. After I explained the situation, my animal was examined. Even before I had explicitly consented, I was informed that the animal would be sedated, so I couldn't make a decision at that point. Only afterward did I agree to the treatment. What was particularly problematic was that this conversation took place in the waiting room in front of other patients and their animals, making it impossible to calmly and undisturbed consider the options. Furthermore, during the conversation, it was implied that the veterinary or animal welfare authorities could be contacted if I decided against treatment. I found this threat very inappropriate and added to the pressure. The entire situation, the manner of communication, and the way I was treated as a pet owner left me with a very unprofessional impression. The procedure itself was technically correct, and the animal woke up; the wound healed well. In retrospect, however, I find the lack of prior consent, the public discussion in front of other patients, and the overly pressured approach particularly unacceptable. Because of this entire experience, I would not recommend this practice and will seek treatment elsewhere in the future.
It simply couldn't be better. I spent ages searching for a reptile vet who didn't want to request pictures, videos, or anything like that and then charge for them, but rather someone I could take my pet to for an examination. Even the initial phone call with the friendly veterinary assistant was very pleasant. I got an appointment the very next day (which meant driving 1.5 hours to Wilhelmshaven). I was seen right on time, and the vet answered all my questions and gave me helpful advice on how to proceed. He examined "Heidi" and was incredibly relaxed throughout. No rush, no stress... very, very pleasant. Even though the round trip alone takes 3 hours, I would take my tortoises to Dr. Michling again in a heartbeat.
I consulted the emergency vet, and the dog was treated with great care. He's healthy and happy again now, yay! Thank you for your help! 👍
