Highly recommended. We were desperate. Our dog couldn't defecate. After a visit to a veterinarian in Ilmenau, a life-threatening intestinal obstruction was diagnosed. The vet wanted to x-ray our dog, but we have a very anxious dog, and he wouldn't let us do it without sedation. The vet refused to sedate him, however, because he had a scheduled neutering procedure to perform. There simply wasn't time for an emergency! Although it was an emergency, I was sent home with a referral to various animal hospitals. When I asked if there were any alternative options, surgery was described as the only way to save him. But the vet in question couldn't perform it. So, I tried calling every animal hospital in the Ilmenau area that could save our dog. I desperately called two animal hospitals in Erfurt, as well as a practice in Neudietendorf. No one helped us. They all turned us away, claiming they had no appointments available or that their vets were sick. They essentially accepted that our dog would die! I was so upset that an emergency was dismissed like that. My last resort was the Gensen Animal Health Clinic in Arnstadt. My guardian angels in times of need. They saw us immediately and treated us quickly. We would like to thank Dr. Arne Böhm, who not only saved our dog's life but also managed to treat his intestinal obstruction without surgery. With his empathetic, patient, and calm manner, he even managed to get our dog to let him have an X-ray, despite his great fear. My family and I thank the entire team at the Gensen Animal Health Clinic from the bottom of our hearts.
