I took my french bulldog here last week because I noticed one of his tooth in the front werre quite loose. Trienna Vet is not my regular vet but because I live 5 mins from there, I thought it would be convenient to check. They told me on the phone that the first visit is 82 EUR (which is okay). However, they barely looked in my dog's mouth, and for the first visit, they did not even check my frenchie's overall condition that is general practice (ear, hydration, paws, lungs, did not check passport, vaccinations, deworming etc.). Within 5 minutes, I was presented on the computer with a price of approx 700-1000 EUR for the tooth extraction etc. Which I of course did not do.... The klinik is very modern and well equipped however, I was disappointed in the service. The doctors seemed super nice but my dog was not checked at all. I did a more thorough examination at home at this is not what I expect from a vet.
I had a problem with the prices for services. I asked twice about the cost, but both times, I got same answers, but after my visit, they charged me the different amount. They said their system changed a while ago, but that doesn’t explain why they couldn't give me the right price just a day ago!! The person handling reservations was not nice. She didn’t apologize or help when I mentioned the pricing issue. She just didn’t seem interested in fixing things. Also, when I took my calm cat for a routine shot, I expected good care. But the vet didn’t seem too skilled. The vet’s answers were basic and something anyone can find on the internet. I just wanted an apology, but instead, they told me to find another vet. That was disappointing. Overall, I had problems with the pricing, the service, and the pet care.
I had such a wonderful experience here. I had an emergency with my dog who was vomiting. They quickly did an exray, bloodwork, and an IV. They also made sure I had support over the holidays. I completely recommend Vienna Vet. You won’t be sorry. Also, Ezzy is doing great now, thanks guys!!
DO NOT GO THERE! I went with my dog puppy for a vaccine and a check up for a rash on her belly and some liquid loss from v* area. The doctors recommended a quick Ecograf to eliminate the chance of a uterus infection. We agreed of course. Upon ecograf, the doctor discovered 'liquid' in the belly - which is not normal. The conclusion was that the urine is leaking in the belly and there might be an anomaly case where the kidneys and the bladder are not connected (although the puppy was peeing 5-6 times per day). Since they could not get a clear reading of the kidneys or bladder during ecograf - THEY COULD NOT FIND THE KIDNEYS AND BLADDER - they suggested Röntgen - which we of course accepted. The puppy was there for 15 min, after that returned to the waiting room. 5 min later they asked to take the dog for another set of x-rays, as they could not get conclusive results - still not finding the kidneys and bladder. They did find some small object that the puppy ate though (no issues cause of that) - I'll give them that. The next thing suggested was a CT scan with contrast solution injected, to be able to trace the path of the liquid and assure the bladder and kidneys are connected. They went so far to say that if that anomaly is confirmed, the puppy might need a surgery which is done at the University Hospital in Vienna. Having recently lost our elderly dog, we were quite devastated with the news, but of course accepted the next steps, and scheduled a CT for the next day. We received some medication for the rash to last 2 days and waiting for new results with from the CT. Leaving there in tears and after paying €395, we decided to get another opinion - not understanding how bladder and kidneys could not be identified in ecograf and röntgen. We went to the emergency clinic Anicura (highly recommend them). We explained the course of events and had another Ecograf there. The doctor had to shave the dog again, as it was shaved in the lower area of the belly only (where there are no kidneys). In the first seconds they - very clearly even for a non professional - they found the bladder and kidneys and established that everything is in good order, bringing some peace in our hearts and mind. They could not determine anything wrong with the puppy in that respect. We received further treatment for the rash for 1 week, in which the situation improved. Next morning I called to cancel the appointment for the CT with contrast solution and informed them about the new results. Asked Vienna Vet for clarification and for a partial refund for the unnecessary röntgen, considering not necessary if ecograf would have been performed correctly. They were adament that they did nothing wrong and were annoyed for going to get a second opinion, questioning why we went to them in the first place. They even told me that it was my choice to do all the tests. WELL OF COURSE, IF THE DOCTOR RECOMMENDED IT!!! I later sent the ecograf results from Anicura so they can see that the results are conclusive enough and dismiss any sign of anomalies and the following Röntgen and CT are not necessary. Still no refund, claiming they are waiting for somebody from Anicura to contact them with clarification. Bottom line, GO ANYWHERE ELSE BUT HERE. Do yourself and your pet a favour and find a capable clinic. Would not trust them with anything other than a vaccine. I hope people see this and take the right decision. I will seek legal support in the matter and file a complaint at Austrian Veterinary Institution , because of the way they conduct things rather than the €1-200 refund.
