Reviews
Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this vet! Although she heard that my cat's heart wasn't beating properly, she didn't recommend any further cardiac examination. Instead, she was ready to operate. Furthermore, every single examination, no matter how minor, is charged extra, which I believe is at least partially unreasonable.
We recently had to have our dog put down after acute kidney failure. On the day of the hospital diagnosis, when it became clear there was no cure, I called this veterinary practice to ask if euthanasia at our home would be possible. We also live in Schwaig, the same town as the practice. The staff member on the phone seemed overwhelmed and couldn't give me any information. I was asked to send an email, which I did immediately – including blood test results, a photo of our dog, and all the relevant information. To this day, I haven't received any response to this email – neither by phone nor in writing. Unfortunately, a very similar situation happened to us about a year ago with our other dog at the same practice. Especially in moments when it comes to the end of a beloved pet's life, you are under immense emotional strain and depend on reliable communication. A brief reply – even a refusal – would have been the bare minimum. This experience has left us very disappointed and saddened. We find this behavior incomprehensible, especially in such a sensitive situation. We would have appreciated compassion, professionalism, and at least a brief response. Thankfully, we were still able to find a dignified farewell for our dog at another location. Anyone who loves their pet knows how difficult it is to say goodbye. Waiting for a response in such a situation and receiving none was very painful for us. In that spirit, R.I.P. Genesis 🙏
We contacted this practice during one of the most difficult and vulnerable times of our lives, hoping to let our seriously ill dog pass away peacefully at home. We were told to send all relevant reports and describe the situation, and that they would review everything and get back to us directly. This never happened. Our dog was euthanized by another veterinarian that same day. To this day, we haven't received a single call, a cancellation, or even a word from this practice. What makes this particularly painful is that we had a similar situation with our dog about a year ago. At that time, they said they didn't have a car. We even offered to pick up the vet ourselves – but again, we received no response. Being a veterinarian is more than just a job – it's a responsibility towards living beings and their families. Especially in moments of farewell, fear, and grief, empathy, reliability, and a brief, honest word are not too much to ask. Even a simple "We're sorry, we can't come" would have helped. This silence hurt us deeply, in addition to our loss. Unfortunately, we cannot recommend this approach in terms of humanity, empathy, and professional conduct in such exceptional situations.
We are truly more than satisfied with the practice and the team! Here, competence meets genuine love for animals. We have three outdoor cats and therefore frequently need them for all sorts of ailments, from vaccinations to injuries. No matter when we come to the practice, they always take their time, the animals are allowed to move around freely, the atmosphere is generally calm and pleasant, and above all, we are treated as individuals. A truly wonderful practice!
