From the initial appointment, including examination, treatment, consultation, surgery, and aftercare, you'd have to go very far to find such a competent veterinarian and team. Her empathy and commitment to her four-legged patients and their worried owners are unparalleled. A heartfelt thank you again for everything – also to the very kind and dedicated assistants. Dr. Rogge even assigned an assistant to Poldi and me, who came to the practice specifically for this purpose. High follow-up costs, prolonged suffering, and disappointing communication. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this practice. After my Samoyed was treated for a Boxer-type ulcer, numerous further appointments at an ophthalmology practice in Munich ensued, resulting in considerable follow-up costs and a long period of suffering for my dog. As a pet owner, you suffer alongside your dog – this worry and emotional strain should not be underestimated. Initially, my dog ​​was examined by an ophthalmologist in Munich. She was already familiar with the initial condition of the eye. However, treatment could not be performed there that day. Therefore, I subsequently took my dog ​​to Dr. Rogge. Dr. Rogge performed a localized abrasion. However, the eye did not heal as hoped. This necessitated several further follow-up appointments, treatments, and considerable follow-up costs at the ophthalmology practice in Munich. Only after the eye had sufficiently recovered from the first treatment could a complete abrasion be performed there. Only then did the eye heal successfully. Afterwards, the ophthalmologist in Munich explained to me that in this case, she would have performed a complete abrasion from the beginning, not just a localized one. She also explained that while a Boxer ulcer can be difficult to heal and recurring, she had chosen this approach in this instance. For me, this explained why the treatment took so long and why there were further appointments, considerable additional costs, and a long period of suffering for my dog. Since this was my dog's first time suffering from a Boxer ulcer and she was being treated by Dr. Rogge, I, as the owner, understandably had many questions. Unfortunately, I was told that there wasn't time for that, as I had been "squeezed in." Especially with an eye condition, I would have appreciated time for questions, clear advice, and more empathy. The aftercare was also disappointing. I was simply asked if I wanted to put an Elizabethan collar on my dog. As an inexperienced owner, I would have liked a clear recommendation and instructions on how to protect her eye. Further communication with Dr. I found Dr. Rogge to be unfriendly and lacking in empathy. During a phone call, I got the impression that my perception was being questioned and that I was being told I had misunderstood her explanations. Furthermore, I was told that the ophthalmologist in Munich couldn't have said it that way, since Dr. Rogge knew the colleague and had previously worked with her. I also found this unprofessional. My personal experience was characterized by numerous additional appointments, significant follow-up costs, great worry for my dog, and a prolonged period of suffering. As a pet owner, you suffer alongside your dog in such a situation – which makes professional competence, understandable advice, and respectful treatment all the more important. Unfortunately, I found all of this lacking. For these reasons, I would not visit this practice again. With complex eye conditions, I recommend that every pet owner seek a second opinion early on. Based on the described course of treatment, everyone can form their own opinion. Addendum: There was only one visit and one bill. This had already been paid by the time of your reply. Therefore, I don't understand why this was mentioned. I explained twice that I had requested the treatment documentation, not a doctor's letter. Nevertheless, you again referred to the fees for doctor's letters (€30.48–€91.44 per 15-minute increment). "Specifically" referred to the treatment method, not the execution. On the one hand, you write that the treatment was complete and correct, but on the other hand, you yourself mention that the appointment was squeezed in and time and resources were limited. I place great importance on the Munich eye clinic that you later recommended. Luna healed there after complete corneal abrasion.

★★★★★ Thanks to this amazing veterinary ophthalmologist, our French Bulldog's eye was saved! Between Christmas and New Year's, we unfortunately received a misdiagnosis from a vet covering for our regular vet. Although a corneal tear approximately 5-6 mm long was visible and had already begun to detach (clearly visible with fluorescein staining), only an ointment was prescribed, and a follow-up appointment was recommended in 10 days. However, the condition deteriorated significantly – our dog blinked excessively, squinted, and his eye became increasingly cloudy. After returning from vacation, our regular vet immediately diagnosed an infection in the eye that required immediate antibiotic treatment. She referred us directly to the veterinary ophthalmology practice in Bruckberg. They acted promptly, and the eye was operated on that same day as an outpatient procedure. The cornea was removed under local anesthesia, and the underlying tissue was expertly treated. Anesthesia wasn't necessary – I was allowed to hold our dog throughout the entire procedure, which demonstrates great trust and empathy. After almost four weeks, the cornea had completely regenerated – our dog can see normally again! The price was also absolutely fair. For us, this is the best veterinary ophthalmology clinic – a clear 5 stars and our highest recommendation. We'll be back anytime!
