Unfriendly, insensitive, incompetent... I can understand that if you're not on call, you're not happy about walk-in patients. But let me start from the beginning. On Sunday, I saw my badly injured cat in the street. Without hesitation, I grabbed her, put her in the car, and drove to the nearest vet. Since we live on Karlsbader Street, he was the first place we went... Well, we were greeted rather unwelcomely at the intercom, and they said they weren't on call. We were so upset because you don't see your cat covered in blood and with a bloodshot eye every day. Reluctantly, he came to the door and immediately started saying, "How do you want to leave now? I'm not on call." I asked him to take a look at the cat. Beforehand, I, as someone who doesn't know much about cats, saw that one eye was popped out, and he grabbed the cat roughly by the scruff of the neck, pulling the skin back. I then told him he shouldn't touch the cat anymore, and all I got in return was, "Why are we coming here if he's not allowed to touch the cat?" He should look at the cat and not handle it so roughly. I was very indignant; there was no empathy or anything like that. I was really disappointed and appalled. He then just told us it didn't look life-threatening and asked why we hadn't called beforehand. "I'm sorry I didn't think of my phone in all the commotion..." And as for "not life-threatening"... my cat is dead. Thanks for nothing. 👍
