We'd gladly come back again! We traveled all the way from Denmark to have my miniature pony's eye removed. Sophie and her team came highly recommended to us by the small animal eye specialist at the North Baltic Sea Veterinary Clinic. We had an appointment within just a few days, received excellent information over the phone, and were thoroughly briefed on the procedure. On the day of the surgery, we received a warm welcome at the wonderful, small, and quiet practice/clinic. Everything had been thought of for our miniature Shetland pony – from the setup of the operating room to the guest stall with its small grass paddock. We went over the details again with the pony, which helped to calm him down – he was spoken to directly about what was happening to him. After the successful surgery, I was able to go back to him immediately and have him undergo post-operative care using bioresonance therapy. ... . Well, after two nights of loving full board and the final wound care, he's back with his herd – still a little cautious and *it itches* :D... but doing well and ready for many more happy years without that annoying, painful eye. One more appointment to have the stitches removed – and then we're good to go. I want to say thank you again from the bottom of my heart for this uncomplicated, quick, down-to-earth, professional, and above all, loving experience.
You pay for nothing. Ms. Koppe was at my stable because of another horse owner. I spontaneously approached her and asked if she could x-ray our horse. She then explained (at great length) why she doesn't do that. She didn't even touch our horse. And then she sent me a bill for it. That's not what I call a service.
Sophie Koppe has been caring for my horses for 15 years now, through thick and thin. During this time, she has always been a reliable, dedicated, empathetic, and competent partner, offering advice and practical help. She communicates clearly, explains the various treatment options, and never loses sight of either the horse or the owner. She is committed to ongoing professional development, is always punctual for scheduled appointments, and has a well-equipped practice with a wide range of possibilities. Sophie has always been available to me, and her dedication to my horses has, on more than one occasion, gone above and beyond what one would expect from a veterinarian.
Dr. Koppe and her colleague L. visited us today to examine my Icelandic gelding. I was absolutely delighted with the calm and careful way they put my Icelandic horse under anesthesia and examined him. Everything was explained to me very clearly using the x-rays and by examining his teeth themselves, showing me what to see and what to look out for. She dispelled some myths and discussed the next steps for us. I wholeheartedly recommend this veterinary practice for all your equine dental needs!
