My cat Tchaikovsky had his castration surgery here when he was 6 month old. All the staffs from the young lady at reception to the doctors were all very friendly and helpful. As a first-time pet owner in a foreign land, I felt reassured and well-respected here. Tchai recovered really quickly after surgery and didn’t have any problem afterwards. We had to move away from HD because of work and couldn’t visit the clinic anymore. But whenever my cat is not feeling well, I still wish we were in HD and had such a trustworthy and friendly clinic as Dr. Veit’s.

It’s been the vet to go to for more than 5 years now for my two cats, one healthy and the other one not so much. All the doctors there are excellent. Very responsive in emails and on the phone too. It’s a place where you can really trust the doctors and the nurses. Priced very reasonably and I never felt pushed to buy supplements.

My dad stopped here for a mandatory animal health check and worming tablet before returning to the UK with our dog. The appointment was delayed by 15 minutes and took over an hour once he was seen. He was then charged over twice what we usually pay for this appointment. The vet clearly misunderstood the paperwork as when we arrived at the Eurotunnel we found it was incomplete and had to get special dispensation to travel back to the UK.

We have had an extremely positive experience with this vet. They helped care for our cat in the shelter before we adopted him. They are extremely kind, accommodating for English language, they are knowledgeable, and they take such good care of our cat. We are very thankful for the care we receive and will continue to go there into the future. It’s also a very clean and well organized office.

I’m only now finding the strength to talk about it, several months after the euthanasia of my cat, with whom I shared 14 wonderful years. This clinic operated on him to remove a few damaged teeth. They forgot to tell us he had stitches in his mouth and that we needed to be careful he didn’t take them out. They told us not to put a cone on him. He ended up removing the stitches himself and got an infection. They had to operate on him again to clean and re-suture the wound. But something went wrong during the operation, and my cat was left blind. The wound never healed again. They kept telling us everything was fine, right up to the end, denying the obvious. Until we had no choice but to euthanize him. I’m not a vet and I don’t claim to know what a vet should or shouldn’t do. I cannot really understand what happened and report it with medical terms. But this story is just too awful.
