Reviews
Fantastic practice. Both the vet and all the assistants are incredibly friendly and handle the animals with such care. You can tell they're truly passionate about their work. The practice itself is also lovely. I have two cats, and when we arrived, they immediately offered us a towel with a calming pheromone spray. There's even a separate waiting area for cats, which I think is fantastic. Even the examination room had a small ramp leading to the table and a litter box. They really pay attention to detail. When my cat needed dental work, the vet asked me to stay until she fell asleep, which I thought was wonderful. I was even allowed to take her out of the cage afterward; they truly prioritize the animals' well-being. The vet patiently explained everything and had a long chat with me. I highly recommend this practice.
Yesterday, I visited Dr. Gürtler for the first time with my dog, Merlin. My first impression was absolutely positive. I wasn't rushed around like in some other practices, even though the next patient was already there. Merlin was offered water, and the relaxed atmosphere, even in the waiting room, had a very positive effect on him. He usually puts on a whining concert in waiting rooms, but yesterday he was calm and relaxed and even lay down. Dr. Gürtler took a lot of time and explained Merlin's situation with his fang, lipoma, and ears very calmly and understandably. I was also surprised that my "fat little one" isn't that fat after all, and that most of it is just fur. 😅 I really liked that they don't "paw the ground" to wait on the next patient; they take their time. I was surprised that Merlin accepted the treat. No vet has ever managed that before. In conclusion, I give him 5 stars because I have a good feeling about him, and at least as many for Merlin, because he only takes food from people he particularly likes, and no one has ever managed that on the first encounter. I think the long search for a new veterinarian who Merlin accepts is over, even if I have to drive a bit farther. But my boy is worth it. Thanks again for the good treatment, his ear is already feeling better. Addition to my review in September: A week later, I went back to the practice for a blood draw because we were planning a comprehensive dental procedure. Here, I was informed whether just one tooth or several would need to be removed. That wasn't clear at first; the x-rays would show that. We were also informed in advance about the possible costs. On October 15, 2025, I went back to the practice with Merlin for dental treatment. I was allowed to stay with Merlin until he fell asleep and was there when he woke up. Afterwards, I was explained exactly, using pictures, what had been done and what I needed to pay attention to over the next few days. Only one more tooth had to be extracted, and the rest could be saved. The next day, we received a call to ask how Merlin was doing. No other veterinarian has ever done that before. I've had dogs for 40 years, and I've never been given such detailed and thorough information as I did with Dr. Gürtler. We were even called during the surgery and informed about Merlin's progress and condition during the operation. The entire team is friendly and handles the animals with great sensitivity. There's no rushed service here like at a supermarket checkout; here, I'm seen as the owner of an animal who loves and cares for their pet. Merlin is doing excellently. Many thanks to everyone involved for the loving treatment of my boy and the excellent explanations. I've found my practice. The 5 stars, of course, remain.
A very friendly team, especially with a competent veterinarian. Finally, someone who explains what's wrong with your pet, in my case a cat. Kudos for that! And not some taciturn vet who leaves you knowing just as much (or as little) as before. If only there were more vets like that! I highly recommend this practice; your pet is in the best hands there. Keep up the great work, you're all fantastic!
We received very kind, attentive, and professional care at the clinic. The vet took her time with us, showed genuine interest in our dogs, and explained everything calmly and clearly. All three of our dogs – Peppu, Pablo, and Ines – were completely relaxed during the visit. Peppu especially appreciated being offered some water. 😅 What made the visit extra special was the lovely conversation about travel – I even got to share a few tips for a future trip to Finland and the Nordics. Thank you for the warm and welcoming experience. Highly recommended! We received very friendly, attentive, and professional care at the clinic. Our vet noticed reddened gums on our cat and recommended that we have it checked by a small animal specialist. A specialist in our area initially suspected FORL (Feline Odontoclastic Resorptive Lesions). We decided to have the further treatment done by Dr. Gürtler, as dental treatments for cats are a focus of her work, according to her website. We were able to get a phone appointment quickly; the initial consultation was very constructive and informative. Since surgical removal of the affected teeth could not be ruled out, a preliminary examination was necessary. Due to the long distance we live in, we were allowed to have this done by our local vet after consulting with her, in order to spare our cat additional travel. At the appointment with Dr. Gürtler, the cat's teeth were first clinically examined. Since the suspicion was confirmed, our cat was placed under general anesthesia. Dr. Gürtler explained that she always has an assistant and that the animals are continuously monitored throughout the entire anesthesia. The subsequent dental x-ray revealed a complex diagnosis: FORL, gingivitis, and periodontitis were present, and the jawbone was already affected in several areas. To avoid putting undue strain on our cat's circulatory system, we opted for two surgical procedures. First, the most severely affected teeth were extracted, and the jawbone was treated. A few weeks later, the second procedure was performed on the remaining teeth. For the post-operative period, we prescribed an antibiotic, a pain reliever, and, if needed, a stronger pain reliever, as well as an antiseptic ointment. Follow-up care was provided by our local veterinarian, in consultation with Dr. Gürtler. Both procedures were uncomplicated, and the wounds healed very well. Our cat was able to eat wet food again immediately afterward. However, after the second procedure, we had to offer her food more frequently, as we felt she was experiencing more pain. During this procedure, some teeth were also removed that were more firmly embedded than during the first. In retrospect, the decision to have the surgery was the best one we could have made. Since then, our cat has become noticeably more lively, active, and generally healthier. Her eating habits have also improved significantly. Previous problems like diarrhea and vomiting have almost completely disappeared. Now that she's fully recovered, she can easily eat not only wet food but also crushed dried meat snacks and small pieces of dry food. According to our veterinarian, the bone remodeling of the jaw takes place over several months, which we can confirm from today's perspective. Therefore, we can confidently say: Our cat leads a completely normal cat life, even without teeth – finally free from dental inflammation, pain, and their consequences. Her gums are a consistently delicate pink. The previous gum inflammation was clearly directly related to the diseased teeth.
