This is a truly fantastic place! We found an injured bird of prey and were able to drop it off at the bird drop-off point here, even in the middle of the night. It's such a great idea! We then received a call to let us know that the bird was being cared for and was doing well, considering the circumstances. It's wonderful that places like this and people like this exist!

Thank you to Mr. Aigner and his team for getting "our" kestrel back on its feet (or rather, back to its wings) so quickly! 👍❤️ They really know their stuff and help is provided very promptly! 👍 No veterinarian can compete with that – and who knows how many times I used to go to Oberschleissheim and was disappointed to find how little they actually knew there. This rescue center urgently needs donations! 🙏

I think it's fantastic that there's a bird drop-off point where you can leave found birds using a contact form. I just wish there was a contact person (especially for weekends and holidays) so you know how to proceed correctly in such a situation. We dropped off a very, very young kestrel in a box and unfortunately don't know how closely it needs care. We couldn't reach anyone by phone. Let's hope the little guy gets help quickly. Local organizations recommend and guarantee prompt care from Mr. Aigner.

Two cars ahead of me today hit a buzzard and threw it to the ground. As I drove past, I thought it still looked alive. I turned around at the next opportunity and drove back. As a hunter, I have a knack for spotting animals, and of course, the bird was sitting motionless at the side of the road. I drove to it along the adjacent dirt track and tried to contact our vet at the same time. Unfortunately, without success. I then quickly googled the number of a raptor rescue center. It didn't matter where at first... I just needed to know how and what to do. I ended up in Otterfing. Mr. Aigner answered the phone immediately and clearly answered my questions about the best way to retrieve the bird. So, I wrapped the bird in the hunting dog's blanket and put it in the footwell. Afterwards, I drove the buzzard 98 km to Otterfing, put it in the car, and hope it's doing well. If possible, we'll visit it this weekend. What can I say?! A fantastic center! It's wonderful that there are people who do this kind of work! Update: Mr. Aigner called the day after I dropped him off and explained that the bird had a hemorrhage in one of his air sacs and had undergone minimally invasive surgery last night. He should be fully recovered. Once he's healthy again, we'll pick up the sweet little guy and release him here.

On July 27, 2015, we came across this small kestrel, seemingly injured, in the fairytale forest in Miesbach. Friendly locals kindly took it to the wildlife rescue center in Otterfing. We hope the little one is doing well and thank them for their uncomplicated help.
