Reviews
We took my anxious dog there a while ago. They treated us wonderfully and were very attentive to my dog's fears. Both the vet and the assistant were great. We were completely satisfied and will definitely come back when we need a vet.
I've only had bad experiences at this practice. First, when I made the appointment by phone, I wasn't informed that Dr. Bonnet was on extended sick leave and would be covered by a substitute. Then, I was greeted at the practice with the words, "We'll be seeing each other again soon." That's not exactly what you want to hear at the vet. Regarding the treatment: I brought a whole list of everything my dog had come into contact with throughout the year so they could find out, or at least narrow down, what was wrong with him. Ultimately, my senior dog was given cortisone to mask the symptoms, which didn't actually cure him at all. Later, a professional vet told me that cortisone isn't good for dogs this old and has severe side effects. My dog did indeed suffer greatly from the side effects when the cortisone was tapered off. My new vet then administered an injection of a medication without side effects, which helped immediately. Dr. Bonnet's practice didn't even attempt to investigate the underlying cause of my dog's illness! No examinations whatsoever were attempted, apart from a visual inspection of the coat (no blood work, skin scraping, etc.). Instead, I was offered medication "blindly" for three possible, very different causes. This is completely unprofessional and not conducive to the dog's health! At the new veterinarian (not at Dr. Bonnet's practice), lab tests were performed, and a day later it was clear what was wrong with my dog and which medication was needed—shortly thereafter, my dog was healthy again. Furthermore, at Dr. Bonnet's practice, I was billed for an examination that had absolutely nothing to do with my visit and which I had not requested. I wasn't even asked, but I was still expected to pay for it. That's incredibly cheeky! I will certainly never go back!
Mr. Bonnet is missed... Unfortunately, I had a bad experience with his replacement. I had to listen to the saying "Those who are given up for dead live longer," and my dog was incorrectly treated for arthritis, which was complete nonsense. She was in so much pain and didn't receive any medication. We then switched to a different practice and tried to fight for her, but unfortunately, we had to have her euthanized.
For the past three weeks, I've been visiting the Bonnet veterinary practice in Dudenhofen almost daily, now run by Dr. Brauch. It's clear that the entire team there is truly dedicated to their work; I felt very well cared for there with my dog. Their concern for my dog extended beyond opening hours, which I found particularly remarkable and shows me that the animals are their top priority. Many thanks again to the whole team for their empathetic and loving care. I will remain a loyal pet owner.
